PEEP! PEEP! PEEEEEEEEEEP! That's that as Manchester United walk away with a 4-0 win over Everton.

United once again waited until the end to kill the game off - they once again didn't play all that well, but come away with a superb result.

He's got that goal he wanted so much! Lukaku's setpiece cannons off to Herrera who sends it back into the box, Lingard flicks it on and Lukaku is left with the simple job of tapping it in from three yards.

He then cups his ears at the Everton support... no love lost there

88' Lingard goes down at the edge of the box under pressure from Baines and Lukaku has made sure he's the only one who'll ever take it... the freekick is woeful, but....

87' A horrible pass from Gylfi Sigurdsson summarises Everton's performance as he passes it out of play - twenty yards away from his intended target. Mourinho takes this opportunity to send on Anthony Martial for Henrikh Mkhitaryan... Old Trafford breaks out into their favourite chant "50 mill down the drain...."

85' Lukaku plays in Lingard once again and the Englishman does well to keep the ball alive and bring Mkhitaryan into play but the Armenian's ball in is poor. Everton try to counter at pace (finally) but Calvert-Lewin had strayed offside before Sandro had sent the ball that sent him roaring forward

Just as Old Trafford had broken out in their chant about Wayner Rooney, Romelu Lukaku makes the decisive move of this half. Williams gifts him the ball and the Belgian does superbly to pick out Mhitaryan - who makes no mistake in passing the ball past Pickford and into the bottom corner.

82' Young releases Herrera down the left but the Spaniard's ball into the box is cut off easily enough... Bailly then tackles his way into the ref's book by scything through Sigurdsson.

80' Mkhitaryan tries to play a quick one-two with Lukaku but the Belgian can't get that return ball away as he gets crowded by all three of Everton's centre-backs

79' United are slacking off now and then and this won't best please Mourinho. Another loose Mkhitaryan pass gifts it to Rooney but to the Armenian's relief Rooney's pass forward is equally abysmal

78' OH! CONTROVERSY! Mkhitaryan sends in a lovely little ball that Lingard does supremely well to take away from Williams... just as he gets his shot away he appears to get pulled back, but Marriner waves play on!

77' The changes are ringing in now as Juan Mata makes way for Ander Herrera and Dominic Calvert-Lewin comes on, belatedly to introduce some pace into the visitor's side, for Idrissa Gueye

76' Nemanja Matic lets one fly - it's got a lot of power but not much direction and Pickford sees it fly wide of his far post.

75' The pace has picked up a touch now, and Lingard bombs forward after being released by a lovely Mata ball. The Englishman goes for the curler, but it deflects away for a corner that comes to nothing.

74' Leighton Baines gets the ball on the left after he makes what feels like his first run forward and his ball into the box finds Sandro. The ex-Malaga man cuts in and tries to get a shot away... but Jones holds his ground

72' The freekick is floated in beautifully but it goes over Fellaini's head and Jagielka hurriedly thumps it clear.

71' Rooney plays in Sigurdsson with a lovely ball but the latter doesn't have the pace to trouble Bailly... Lingard flies down the other end and he certainly has the pace to trouble Keane... Martina joins in to help his mate but ends up booting Lingard to earn a yellow and give away a freekick.

70' CHANCE! LINGARD! Ashley Youung channels his Aston Villa-Watford days to rip down the left and send in a lovely square ball that finds Lingard all by his lonesome just outside the six-yard box. He, in turn, attempts to pass it into the net with first-time finish, but all he can find is row Z

69' This game has gone from electric to borderline pedestrian in the blink of an eye, hasn't it? Martina fouls Mkhitaryan in his own half and United have a chance to move forwards with real intent.

68' Rooney has dropped deep and is starting to pull the strings... he sets off Sigurdsson who stops, turns and sends a cross/shot yawningly wide.

67' Wayne Rooney attempts to pass the ball through Nemanja Matic and the Serb shows that's just a foolhardy choice to make. Lingard is released down the left but he dawdles on the ball - mostly due to a startling lack of support in the box - and he's dispossesed.

66' First roll of the dice by Koeman as Tom Davies (who was so impressive this half) gets pulled for new boy (and Barca old boy) Sandro Ramirez

65' Lingard gets bullied off the ball in what Marriner reads as a fair challenge...

64' OH OH OH! JUAN MATA! The Spaniard curls the ball around the wall and smack! onto the post! The ball deflects off Jagielka and out for a corner... which amounts to noithing.

63' Yellow for Ashley Williams... Pickford shanks it straight to Mata who runs at the Everton defence; Williams ends up pushing Mata at the edge of the box and it's a freekick for the home side in a rather promising position.

62' United have been dull, ponderous, and very LVG-esque (at his absolute worst) this half. The nervous energy rippling around Old Trafford is a testament to that.

61' OH CHANCE SIGURDSSON! Everton are coming ever closer to an equaliser... the Icelandic talisman runs into the box, sees his first shot blocked, and sees his rebound fly off De Gea's knee.

60' Martina tries to slip in Davies this time down the left but a lunging Fellaini tackle means it's just a throw-in. Mourinho makes his first change and local boy Rashford is replaced by another local boy in Lingard.

59' Martina does well once again to get in behind United's left flank and the utterly non-existent Young but his cross into the box s not the best. He has another go at it, but this time Young does well to shepherd it out for a throw.

58' Mkhitaryan is eased off the ball rather too easily by Martina and a wayward header from Jones allows Sigurdsson to set Rooney off on the break... but the ex-United man had strayed well offside

57' Lukaku has gone off the pitch - to get a new pair of boots; maybe these are his shooting ones?

56' The impressive Tom Davies tries to dance away from Jones and Matic but only partially succeeds in his endevaour... the game has completely shifted in Everton's favour; and despite Old Trafford's best attempts to get some pizzazz injected into their side, nothing is working. For the moment.

55' Rooney has been giving Bailly a tough time of it - and he once again hassles and harries the Ivorian into giving a throw in

53' OH HO! CHANCE LUKAKU! Mata floats the ball in and Jagielka looses the ball in the air - Lukaku's chest control is not what it should be and the bounce makes it impossible for him to get a shot away - and that enables Everton's skipper to save his blushes

52' Just as I say that Mkhitaryan plays in Rashford down the left - and the young man opts for a wild curler that ends up nearer the corner flag than the goal. Lukaku is not best pleased about his fellow forward's decision

50' Tom Davis does superbly to hold off a belligerent Jones and Matic and plays in Rooney. He turns Bailly inside out but that movement allows Jones to get back and snuff out the danger

48' Rashford gets on his scooter down the left flank but he runs straight into Keane... Everton try to launch Davis in behind Jones but William's ball has way too much ooomph on it.

46' OH! OH! OH! WAYNE ROONEY CHANCE! What lovely play from the great man... he turns Bailly smoothly and plays in Davies and despite him coming up with a loose first touch off the return his tenacity sees him win the ball off Bailly... one-on-one with De Gea, the Spaniard comes up tops!

PEEP! WE'RE OFF AGAIN!

The players have emerged from the tunnels and Rooney has spent a good five minutes telling Cuco Martina what he wants him to do. He nods vigorously to everything but I'm not sure how much of that Liverpudlian he understood.

PEEP! PEEEEEP! HALF-TIME! MANCHESTER UNITED 1-0 EVERTON

For all of United's early dominance, it's only Antonio Valencia's screamer that separates the two sides. Everton have done well to reel in a United side that looked like they were going to run away with this, but if they are to make their former golden boy Lukaku rue his misses, they'll need to get more people up in support of a lonely Wayne Rooney.

It'll be interesting to see how Koeman changes it up - and if Mourinho has a go at his players for taking their collective foot of the Toffees', erm.... collective neck
