Mohun Bagan 3-1 Bengaluru FC, AFC Cup 2017, As It Happened!

This loss means that Bengaluru FC drop to second spot after Maziya defeated Abahani earlier in the day.

With only one team going through to the knockout stages, BFC will have to defeat the team from Maldives when they meet in the final matchday of the group stage on May 31st.

Prabir's run down the right sees Ralte come out to play sweeper-keeper. But his teammate loses the ball and Katsumi is there.

The Japanese tries to chip it in over Ralte but can only find the keeper in trying to do so.

I am never getting tired of calling out that name. The defender has a crack on goal now. But that doesn't have the pace or the placement that Bikramjit's had. Ralte with the save.

81' - Bad foul there by Gursimrat and that's more out of frustration than anything. Barges into the back of Mallick and gives away a free kick.

And that should seal it for Bagan. The hosts again broke down the left. Kean Lewis at it again as he comes infield and tries to shoot. Deflected out and falls to Bikramjit who loves to take long rangers.

And he places that into right corner of the goal from about 20 yards out. Ralte jumps valiantly to the left but has no chance.

Vineeth, tries to break in from the left. But Prabir Das is there with a timely tackle as BFC have to do with a throw.

77' - Ralte comes out and clears. Azharuddin Mallick nearly played in there.

Rino Anto is back and he comes in for Len Doungel who has run his heart out in this game.

74' - GOAAALL!!

It's been coming and it has finally arrived. Bagan lead again as Kean Lewis hits his first off the season.

Played in down the left and he charges towards the box. Cuts in and then cuts out. Hits a shot off of his weaker left foot. That takes a wicked deflection into the ground and then over the top of Ralte who was going down in anticipation of the initial shot.

Prabir Das with a shot from the right outside the box on his weaker left foot but straight at the keeper.

71' - All Bagan now and a lovely pass from Raynier nearly plays Azharuddin in on goal. But Ralte comes out in time to clear.

Falls to Kean Lewis on the left who crosses it in but straight to the GK.

Katsumi Yusa with another stellar run down the left. He has Keegan Perreira beaten for pace as he gets into the box. A shove comes in from the BFC captain for the night.

Yusa goes down but the referee is not impressed.

67' - JEJE AGAIN!!

Katsumi Yusa with the ball this time. Over the top and into the path of Jeje. But the ball doesn't really come down for him and he then tries to chip Ralte but not with any success.

66' Ball down the middle trying to play in Len but Balmuchu with an acrobatic interception.

I don't know what expression I should use to define what I just saw.

Bagan go on the counter after that free kick is cleared. A lung-busting run from Prabir Das on the right. Plays the ball in on time and on the money for Jeje in the middle.

And Indian forward blazes it over. Everyone in the stadium standing in disbelief.

Len turns and is too quick for Raju.

Third one from Kean Lewis tonight. This one is his best of the lot but still can't find the target from around 25 yards out.

But that really had some venom in it.

60' - Katsumi nearly played in there by Bikramjit but the ball lacks a bit in terms of direction.

Bagan nearly get a breakthrough as Mallick tries to get at the end of a through ball down the middle. Luckily for BFC its a tad bit overhit.

This is looking like the first leg again. BFC went in a goal down and it's all BFC now.

Vineeth played in down the right side of the box. But the out of form forward has to dig the ball as his first touch is poor. Goes across goal but Shilton Paul is down and gathers that comfortably,

What a strike from the Indian forward from around 30 yards out and into the back of the net. Paul should have done much better but BFC won't complain.

Well, that was the look on Prabir Das' face as he romped down the right and put in a cross in the middle But Jeje Lalpekhlua is about a couple of yards behind.

49' - Daniel goes down in the middle. Looks to the ref. But he tells him to get up.

That could be his new nickname if he keeps getting flagged at the rate. If only the forward had kept his run in check for a fraction longer that could have been dangerous as Bagan had only one man at the back.

Eduardo with a long ball over the top there for Prabir Das to chase on the left. But the Indian cant' get to it.

46' - Early foul by Len on Eduardo. Doungel made a good run on the left there but Eduardo was astute in his tackle.
He dispossessed him and tried to get to the ball but dragged back.

This has not been the greatest of games and no cheerleaders either. But let's hope for some great action in the second half.
