Manchester United were completely, thoroughy, outplayed for the first time this pre-season by a bunch of kids from Real Madrid Castilla along with Kovacic and Casemiro. Fellaini, though, should have buried the world's easiest chance to give United the win late in the half - but no one goes from sublime to farcical faster than the big Belgian.

The 1-1 seems a fair result taking into consideration both halves; so will David De Gea remind Real Madrid of what they'll be missing next season?

McTominay picks out the lumbering giant absolutely, utterly, completely free in the box with a superb cross.... that Fellaini manages to send into orbit from around six yards out... the man is capable of some of the most clumsily horrible misses - but this is the worst I've seen.

81' Blind sells Martial short with a horrendous pass that is stolen from his feet but the Dutchman recovers to extricate United from a precarious position. Pogba is then muscled off the ball once again by Quezada, but the young man runs into traffic in the middle of the park ...

79' Brilliant build-up play and hold-up play from Blind and Lukaku allows McTominay to slip in Paul Pogba at the edge of the box - where Quezada does superbly to ensure the world's most expensive player doesn't get a shot away.

66' Blind and Martial combine down the left to speed up proceedings for United and the Dutchman will take the corner they win in the process. the setpiece is cleared but McTominay does superbly to skip past a couple of people before picking out Fellaini - who's adjudged offside, correctly.

65' The Swede then does well to intercept and start off a bout off United passing that ends with a poor touch from Martial. It's this casualness at times that infuriates - how can a man with such lovely ball control lose the ball due to a bad first touch so often?

64' United are getting no purchase off this makeshift Madrid team and the youngsters are passing the ball around calmly... Lindelof barges into Kovacic as he gets fed up of all the passing around.

60' Gomez catches Fellaini loitering on the ball before the big Belgium gets nutmegged by the tricky little youngster. Fellaini, though, is no giver-up-of-lost-causes and muscles his way back into possession.

59' Oscar smacks it straight into the wall, but Mkhitaryan's counter is nullified as Theo Hernandez forces the Armenian to go back in order to retain possesion.

58' United aren't getting a touch of the ball now as Madrid pass the ball around with slick precision... Casemiro and Fellaini go into a tackle with equal force and the Brazilian wins that bout before being bundled over by Scott McTominay... freekick for Madrid in a promising position,

56' Hakimi does well to ensure Martial doesn't run in behind the Madrid defence... and these Madrid youngsters are playing with a panache and calmness of mind that belies their age. The ball is then handed over to a relatively senior figure in Kovacic - the underrated Croat runs through three challenges with typical brilliance before standing one up at the far post that Gomez can only guide on to the head of Pogba.

54' Hakimi, the first Moroccan to play for the senior Real Madrid team, attempts a cross but it's nipped in its bud by Blind. The Madrid youngsters are full of running though and are chasing and harrying the United team all over the place

53' Theo Hernandez is also on for Real Madrid and this is our first look at the former Atletico youth teamer in the white of Real. Meanwhile, Lindelof tries a long ball to Lukaku but Casilla reads it well to safely gather

52' Herrera hobbles off after six minutes to be replaced by big Scott McTominay. Him and Fellaini make for a quite imposing midfield partnership, I must say.
