Marc Marquez wins his first ever San Marino MotoGP

Marc Marquez has won the San Marino Grand Prix, his first win at the venue in this class. He has previously won in 125cc. Bradley Smith of Monster Yamaha Tech is in 2nd, while Scott Redding of Marc VDS is in third. It's Redding's first podium in MotoGP.

Jorge Lorenzo had started the race in pole position and was teammate Valentino Rossi's closest competitor in the championships. Although Rossi is currently in P5, the 6-time champion will now extend his lead in the standings.
