Navas then dives over Pogba's leg and the ref rightly waves play on. Martial screams forward, crosses it deep and Rashford keeps it in. He plays a quick one-two with Pogba and passes the ball just a few inches wide of Rico's far post!

84' Correa tries to skin Valencia on the outside. Yeah, that's not happening. Montella takes off Vazquez for Sandro Ramirez. OH WAIT! Montella has changed his mind; and after a while Muriel is taken off for the former Everton man.

83' OHHHHH! MY! Pogba dances down the left, picks a lovely little ball out to Lukaku - who controls it, spins and slams it into goal. Only thing, is he was adjudged to have controlled it with his hand. Spot on that decision.

The big Belgian does brilliantly to hold off Lenglet and play in Sanchez, who in turn does even better to draw three defenders and play it back to Lukaku. Who then proceeds to lose it with a loose cross out wide to Mata.

69' Mata wins the ball, Escudero falls down and that's a freekick for Sevilla in the eyes of the referee

68' Smalling does what Smalling does - uses N'zonzi as a step-ladder and gets penalised for it.

67' Banega's kick is straight to De Gea. United counter and Lukaku does immensely well to bully three men in white, charge down the left and win a corner for United.

66' Escudero does ever so well to win a freekick off Mata - that's a freekick, how that is not a yellow... Banega will fancy this from 25 yards out

65' Correa screams into the box, steps-over a million times holds off Valencia and sends a shot straight into row Z

61' A Pogba dink, a clever Sanchez reverse, and a Mata cross all end up nearly creating a chance for Lukaku. McTominay then does ever so well to win the ball off Vazquez but the Spaniard goes down and that's a foul in the ref's book.

59' Sanchez breaks onto a loose pass and United rampage forward but the Sevilla backline do well to hold them at bay. United keep the ball patiently, though, and Sanchez decides he's had enough as he rampages through the middle of the field till Muriel takes him out. How that isn't a yellow...

57' Sevilla pass the ball around - till Muriel takes the ball just outside the box and sends a weak shoot dribbling past De Gea's left post. The Spaniard's look of contempt encapsulated just how poor an attempt that was.

55' Lukaku pops up on the right, breezes past Escudero like he isn't there before and hands the ball back to Sevilla with a poor cross. The home side use this to unleash Navas at Sanchez again - but this time the Spaniard's cross is eased out of the box by Valencia.

54' From which Young concedes a freekick with Muriel holding up the ball looking for just that. This one bounces out to Vazquez who can't control it - and slides into Sanchez for good measure.

53' Young tries to take on Sarabia and ends up passing the ball straight to him. Sevilla break rapidly again... and Muriel wins another corner. Banega sends this straight into De Gea's hands.

50' Vazquez sends Sanchez and Young to the wrong fire with a cute little fake and finds acres of space just at the edge of the box. From where he sends it to the Rock of Gibraltar

49' Sanchez and Pogba combine to try and release Young down the box, but it's a corner. From the corner, Mata tries to work a ball across the box but nothing doing.

48' More precise passing from Sevilla leads to Banega picking out Muriel with an absolute peach of a ball - the Colombian sends it into row Z.

47' Correa steps-over, and steps-over before getting brushed aside by Valencia. He passes it forward to Matic who tries to over-elaborate a way out of Sevilla pressure (of sorts) and passes it straight to N'Zonzi.

A half that was interesting in spurts, but could do with a dose of sustained quality almost burst into life in the final couple of minutes as some comically inept defending from United saw De Gea needing to pull off another one of his goalkeeping masterclass to keep the scores level.

This game isn't going to end goalless.

46' WHAT ABSOLUTE COMEDY! LINDELOF FAKES, NO, HE FAKES, IN FRONT OF DE GEA AND MURIEL AND THE COLOMBIAN ALMOST TAKES IT! BANEGA THEN SWINGS ANOTHER ONE IN AND MURIEL HEADS IT FROM SIX YARDS OUT - AND ANOTHER ABSOLUTELY STUNNING SAVE FROM DE GEA. OH MY GOOD LORD, WHAT A SAVE

45' The corner is headed across the box by Muriel and N'zonzi sends a thumping goal that's headed into the top corner - but DAVID DE GEA! WOOF! WHAT A SAVE

44' United and play it short and Sevilla break with insulting directness... Escudero is played in and the left-back tries to find a free Muriel in the box but Lindelof gets in his way.

43' United's best move of the match as Alexis, Pogba and Mata combine to win a corner off Lenglet.

42' A miscued clearance from Valencia allows Banega to recover the ball and play it out to Correa - who once again takes all the time in the world, reads Dumas, sips some beer, and passes it to De Gea.

41' Navas and Sanchez engage in a foot race and the Chilean makes a meal of it - with Navas going down under enough of contact from Sanchez. Yellow. Can't really complain - not like that stops him.

39' Vazquez lets fly from 22 yards odd - but nothing happens from it but a corner. De Gea punches that one out, but Correa comes racing back, back-heels it Escudero - but Mata gets a foot in. That corner is cleared too

38' OOOOO! Young races at Navas, turns him inside and out before running out of luck as Lenglet gets a foot in. It bounces out to McTominay and he unleashes one with his left - foot; which Rico palms away with relative ease.

37' Ever Banega goes for a high ball - Sanchez goes for the same high ball. Banega goes with his feet, Sanchez goes with his head. OUCH. And a foul for United

36' Navas does what Navas has been doing since the dawn of time... runs down the right wing, crosses it onto an opposition defender's head, wins a corner. That one is wasted

35' Pogba tries to get the ball off Banega - and ends up fouling him. Matic then does the same to Sarabia and Banega now has the ball in an area he can whip something useful from

34' That corner leads to another corner as Smalling has to be at his best to keep N'Zonzi at bay. The second one is immensely overhit - United throw-in at the far corner.

33' Smalling uses Muriel like one would a step-ladder, climbs all over him and heads the ball away. Vazquez comes right back, loses the ball, gets it back, and wins a corner off Smalling

31' Valencia sends Correa to the wrong postal code with a sashay of his hips before charging for'ard and smashing cross into oblivion. This game is crying out for something special to happen.
