Kaur's excellent effort goes in vain

Indian T20I captain Harmanpreet Kaur put in a fine performance for her WBBL side Sydney Thunder, but her side fell just short in the encounter against the Melbourne Stars at the North Sydney Oval.

Kaur made 47 in her side's chase of 148 kept her side in the game until the end, however with 9 needed of 2 the Indian could just get a single off the second last ball to all but conclude the end result.

They eventually lost the game by 6 runs. It was nevertheless an excellent start for the Indian in her maiden outing in the WBBL.

Indian Women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has been included in the starting XI for Sydney Thunder’s tournament opener against the Melbourne Stars in the first match of the Women’s Big Bash league.

I am happy to see Mohammad Amir back playing international cricket: Michael Hussey

Former Australian batsman Michael Hussey has expressed delight over the return of Mohammad Amir to international cricket, stating that the left-arm pacer had already experienced a lot in his career and he was an 'outstanding' talent.

“I know he’s been through a lot in a short career really, but I’m personally happy to see him back playing international cricket. I feel like he’s done his time and he’s a class bowler.

"He’s an outstanding talent.He just kept running in hard all day being young and fresh. He certainly gave us a good battle out there. It was a shame he had to go through that tough period but hopefully he comes back bigger and better," he said.
