With that, we come to the end of our coverage of Day 1 of Men's Singles Luge event, where Shiva Keshavan certainly won everyone's hearts with his much-improved performance in Run 2.

Shiva seems mightily pleased at his performance, and even runs off to a group of Indian fans, cheering him from the stands. 

His helmet and visor are still on, but he doesn't seem to care, and nor do the fans. 

This is a special moment for the Indian, who is participating in his 6th, and final Olympics. And from the looks of it, he intends to enjoy it as much as he can.

He finally clocks in with a respectable timing of 48.710, to finish 31st in Run 2.

Tilen Sirse of Slovenia gets off to a shaky start, and falls off his sled, but he does well to get back on the sled.

He looks distraught as comes in with a timing of 58.776.

Rupert Staudinger of Great Britain has some trouble with the transition, as he has a couple of unclean touches., finishing with a timing of 49.259.

Chris Mazdzer of USA puts in a brilliant run. In fact, he is second in the heat, and 4th overall, as he puts in a timing of 47.717!

Kevin Fischnaller of Italy puts in a brilliant run with a timing of 47.793. That takes him from 8th to 4th on the standings!

Valentin Cretu of Romania up next...a difficult run for him, as he finishes  with a timing of 49.085.

Sam Edney of Canada looks to put in a smooth run...he shows good speed and perfect technique, to clock in at 47.755.

That run takes Edney to third place in Run 2.

Arturs Darznieks of Latvia looks quite disappointed, as he crashes and collides his way to a timing of 48.671.

Stepan Pederov gets in a decent finish in his second run. He clocks in at  47.936, despite hitting the chicane. He seems quite happy with his timings.

Taylor Morris goes in with a quick start, but bumps into the wall in the mid sector. However, he did well to finnish with a timing of 48.793.

Polish luger Kurowski up next, and he hits a bit of a snag in the mid section, 48.467.

Semen Pavlichenko gets set for the next run.  The Russian seems to be having a better time out there than his previous run, and clocks in at 47.923.

Wolfgang Kindl comes in for his Run 2, and clocks in at 47.858. He finishes 6th.

What a race we are having in Run 2!  Germany's Felix Loch now takes the lead in Run 2, clocking in at 47.625.

But Roman Repilov of Russia takes the lead in Run 2, clocking in at 47.740.

Kristers Aparjods flies down the track, and slides in at the top position, with a timing of 47.834!

Langenhan of Germany up next, and he puts in a steady run, to clock 47.850. He comes in at second.

Gleirschner, who finished top of the heat in Run 1 is up next, as he slides in with five paddles...a clean, clean run, clocking in at 47.835. A bit slower than his first run, but takes the top spot for now in Run 2.

Jozef Ninis of Slovakia to get us underway...rams into the side railings and he flies through the air. He clocks in at 50.014.

David Gleirscher of Austria finished top of the pack, with a timing of 47.652.

Meanwhile, India's Shiva Keshavan, who suffered a bit of a hiccup during his run, finished 36th, with a timing of 50.578. He was essentially 2.926 seconds behind Gleirscher.

Nikita Kopyrenko of Kazakhstan will be the last man to take to the track...takes his time to slide in, barges into the wall before sliding over the line, as he clocks 50.147.
