Will anything hinder the Jinder now????

08:22 (IST)22 MAY 2017

The modern day Maharaja gets a massive pop as he poses on the barricade victorious! The crowd's reaction is almost as unfathomable as the winner! Jinder Mahal is going to go down in history as the 50th WWE Champion in the title's history! What a fantastic end to a PPV that had more lows than highs until now!

08:21 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Sadly Randy Orton's title run took a dive. #WWEBacklash

08:19 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Well we just went Mah-all in on Jinder Mahal #WWEBacklash

08:19 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Orton hits the brothers with a double DDT on the ropes and Jinder ambushes Orton from behind to send Orton crashing to the mat with the Khalas to unbelievably win the WWE Championship!

Jinder Mahal wins! Has hell finally frozen over????

08:16 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Randy hits a DDT on the ropes and sells his injury before smashing the canvas in anticipation of the RKO. Jinder smartly rolls out of the way and the Viper encounters the brothers, giving Mahal just enough time to take advantage to slam Orton's shoulder into the ring post twice. Mahal walks into an RKO but is saved by faithful lackeys who are then sent flying all over the place by the viper.

08:16 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Nice of Randy Orton to rely only on moves that will hurt his injured shoulder. A true ring general.

08:14 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Orton lands a power slam and then connects with a fall away slam. JBL points out that Orton's left arm is what got Jinder off the hook. A Mahal neck breaker leads to a cover as Orton continues to cling onto his arm. Mahal's grunts don't save his from the subsequent back breaker as Jinder rolls out of the ring and onto the apron.

08:11 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Orton has Mahal on the third rope but not for long as Jinder gets him off soon but gets crotched on the ropes immediately after. Soon excellent selling precedes an Orton superplex off the third rope that isn't enough to put Jinder away.

08:10 (IST)22 MAY 2017

The rest hold extends and the initially desperate Orton has enough time to work his way to the ropes. Jinder chases Orton down in the corner but finds the ringpost with his shoulder instead.

08:08 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Jinder reverts to the arm lock yet again after the action returns to the ring and underlines it with an emphatic elbow to the head. Jinder tightens the hold as this match of rest holds and JBl's excuses for it continue.

08:07 (IST)22 MAY 2017

A portion of the crowd seems to share our opinion that Orton has gotten stale, as the Viper lifts Jinder and slams him onto the announcer's desk.

08:07 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Not sure why The Singh Bros are dressed like dental hygienists

08:05 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Mahal uses his brute strength to twist Randy's arm as the crowd unbelievably chants 'let's go Jinder, Jinder sucks'. Orton then works out of it and establishes his dominance with stomps. Mahal attempts the backslide and transitions into a slam that allows him to slow things down with another arm lock.

08:04 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Since 1963, 49 different men have held the WWE Title. If Jinder Mahal wins it tonight, he'd be the 50th person to hold the WWE Championship

08:03 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Jinder seems stunned as he re-enters the ring and recovers in the corner. Things seemed to have livened up after the boring Harper match as the bell finally rings. Orton nearly hits an RKO but Jinder rolls out of the ring. The Viper then stares down Jinder's little minions and it gives the number one contender a chance to take advantage.

08:00 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Randy Orton vs. Jinder Mahal:

A chiselled Jinder Mahal actually receives a pop here and there as he raises his arms in the air but Orton doesn't wait for his intro. The action then spills out of the ring as Jinder is thrown over the announcer's table and then pummeled with rights.

07:59 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Good news for Jinder Mahal? The  WWE Title has changed hands 5 times at #WWEBacklash, including each of the last three (2016, 2009, 2008).

Rowan then takes to the top rope but misses the splash and Harper tries to turn things in his favour but Erick rolls out of the ring. Harper then chases Rowan and slams him into the barricade. He then follows it up with a suicide dive and a running senton to gain complete control.

07:44 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Harper tries to fight back with a few slaps to the chest but is stopped by a massive dropkick. Rowan then manhandles Harper and slams him to the mat. he then follows it up with an impressive pump handle slam which leaves Harper motionless in the centre of the ring.

07:41 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Luke Harper vs. Erick Rowan:

Rowan starts strong with hard right hands but Harper counters with a slap to the chest. Harper is then sent flying onto the steel steps which Rowan follows with a drop kick through the bottom rope.

07:37 (IST)22 MAY 2017

AJ goes for the Styles clash on the announcer's desk but Owens sweeps his leg and gets out of harm's way. This, in turn, traps Styles' leg in cables which leads to him being counted out.

KO wins

KO then returns to hit Styles with another kick to the back of the neck before he leaves the arena.

07:34 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Owens then flings AJ into the timekeeper's area but Styles comes back with a Phenomenal forearm as the two tease a table spot.

07:32 (IST)22 MAY 2017

Owens is about to climb to the top rope when AJ rolls onto the apron and Owens looks to punish it for him but ends up landing back-first onto the edge of the apron.
