Emerald Ore is a rare ore that can be found in mountains and hills. It is the only source of naturally generated emeralds. They have a variant known as Deepslate Emerald Ore which can only be found in the deepslate layers and tuff layers of the Overworld.

Emerald ore and its variants are naturally generated only in mountains, frozen peaks, and windswept hills biomes. Once you have found an emerald ore, you will have to break it with an iron, emerald, or netherite pickaxe so that it drops emeralds and 3-7 experience orbs. When mined with any other tool you will not receive anything.

Emerald ore when broken will drop individual emeralds. Emeralds are used to trade with villagers and wandering traders. They can also be turned into blocks that can be used to power beacons.
