Many free mods for Minecraft require something called Minecraft Forge and thus you may be wondering what Minecraft Forge actually does. Forge is a modification that allows Minecraft to load thousands of custom mods and content. While Forge does not add anything to your game, it is a gateway to a boundless source of creativity and free, inventive content.
With mods, Minecraft can become a lot more intensive and complex. Overhaul the entire game with an expansion-pack style mod, or make subtle tweaks to enhance and revitalize the base game content. Quality of life changes, difficulty changes, bug fixes and more are available to you once you have Forge installed.

Download the latest version of Forge from the official Minecraft Forge website. Open the Forge Installer and follow the instructions.
To install mods to your new Minecraft Forge, you need to enter “%appdata%” into the address bar and navigate to the .minecraft folder. Then simply place any mods you have downloaded into the newly created “mods” folder. Forge will automatically check this folder at each startup, so make sure to move the mods here before starting the game. It can also take a very long time to combine these mods together. Each mod placed here must be compatible with the other. We will demonstrate installing the Chunk Animator mod which changes the way that the game builds itself as you play. Q. How do I install mods in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition?
Because Minecraft Forge only exists for the Java Edition of Minecraft, you cannot install Forge mods in any version of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.
