The Bane of Arthropods enchantment is a powerful offensive spell that enhances the damage you do against spiders. This increases the damage by 7.25x at the max enchantment level. The useful Slowness enchantment actually becomes redundant when fighting spiders - Bane of Arthropods activate Slowness IV when fighting Arthropods. This means that you won’t have to worry about Spiders jumping and attacking you faster than you can run away!
Q. Can you use Bane of Arthropods against enemies other than spiders?
Yes. A number of arthropods exist in Minecraft, so this is not just a spider killing sword. Arthropods include not only Spiders and Cave Spiders, but also Bees, Silverfish and even Endermites.
No longer do you need to fear the night. Master your fear of the dark by surviving a night or two on your own merits with a trusty Bane of Arthropods Sword! This weapon can even be enchanted several more times, which means that you can almost create loadouts - specific sets of equipment for specific situations. Sharpness, Mending, and Loyalty are all great, common enchantments for any weapon.
