How to make Blast Furnace in Minecraft: Step by Step Guide

The Blast Furnace is a powerful upgrade to the regular Furnace. This item sports double the cooking power at half the time of the original Furnace, but does not work for all items that go in the Furnace. The Blast Furnace is a specialty furnace that exclusively smelts ore and metal tools. For quickly cooking food items, the specialty block ‘the Smoker’ is the one to craft.

Blast Furnaces are necessary for any master blacksmith. It can take an extended amount of time to smelt all of the materials that you found on a mining expedition, and most players are interested in speeding that up. Another important piece of information to know is that since baking times are doubled, each piece of coal will be twice as useful in a Blast Furnace.

Required Materials to craft a Blast Furnace

To craft Blast Furnace in Minecraft, you will need the following:

  1. A Furnace
  2. Iron Ingots (x5)
  3. Smooth Stones (x3)

Smooth Stone can be crafted in a furnace. Read on!

How to make a Blast Furnace in Minecraft?

In a Nutshell:

You’ll need plenty of Cobblestone, Iron, and Coal. Place the original Furnace in the center cell of the crafting grid, put 3 Smooth Stone on the bottom row, and place 6 iron in the same configuration as the helmet recipe.

Step-by-Step Guide (with Pictures):

Step 1- Open the Crafting Table menu

Step 2- Craft a regular Furnace by using the recipe shown below

Step 3- Now, using the furnace, smelt some Cobblestone into regular Stone.

Step 4- You need 3 Smooth Stone for the next step. Smelt Stone into Smooth Stone using the Furnace once again:

If you have Raw Iron, now is the time to ensure you have 5 Iron Ingots.

Step 5- Now combine all of the blocks you have crafted and smelted thus far to create the Blast Furnace

Pick up the furnace by breaking it with a Pickaxe in order to craft this block.

How to use a Blast Furnace in Minecraft?

The Blast Furnace, as mentioned before, is the fastest smelting appliance in Minecraft and by utilizing this furnace, you can save both time and fuel by the nature of its design. The doubled cooking power manifests itself by halving the amount of time it takes to smelt an entire stack of Raw Iron. In its essence, the Blast Furnace UI functions identically to the regular Furnace. Make sure you load the Blast Furnace with plenty of materials so that you don’t waste the highly efficient heating reaction. A single piece of coal can smelt over double the output of a regular Blast Furnace thanks to reduced cooking times.

FAQs

Q. Why can’t I cook food in the Blast Furnace?

While the normal Furnace can cook any item in Minecraft, the Blast Furnace is a more specialized tool that has a significantly faster cooking rate at the expense of compatibility. Utilize a Smoker to receive these benefits exclusively for food items.

Conclusion

Blast Furnaces may seem like a hassle but they can actually be crafted just as soon as you craft regular Furnaces. Once your Minecraft base reaches a certain size, you will find it necessary to speed up your material processing workflow if you desire to progress in a timely manner. Upgrade your Blacksmith smelting functionality and save a few trips of mining Coal.
