The Eye of Ender is an item that can be used to locate strongholds. At these newly found strongholds, you are able to activate end portal frames via using Eye of Enders in order to traverse to the end dimension; which is where you can defeat the Ender Dragon to beat the game.

To make an Eye of Ender, place one piece of Ender Pearl in the crafting GUI, in the center of the 3x3 grid, with blaze powder underneath. Once you complete making the Eye of Ender, move it to your inventory.
Here is the step-by-step pictorial guide you need to follow to make an eye of ender in Minecraft:
Step-1 Firstly, you need to open a crafting table menu or your 2x2 inventory crafting menu. In this guide, we will use a crafting table for good practice.

Step-2 Inside the crafting table menu, place your ender pearl and blaze powder in the exact fashion as shown below.
Step-3 Drag your newly created eye of ender from the crafting table menu into your own inventory.
Step-1 You can throw an eye of ender by pressing the interact key. When you throw an Eye of Ender you will see the entity levitate in a certain direction, hover in the air, then finally drop to the ground. The Eye of Ender is naturally attracted towards the nearest stronghold in the map.
Step-2 Continuously throw Eye of Enders and keep following their direction until the Eye begins to hover over one spot. The spot the eye consistently levitates over is where you need to dig directly downwards in order to locate the stronghold.
End portals require a total of 12 eyes of ender in order to activate, though each individual end portal frame has a 10% chance of containing an eye of ender when you find it.
