The strongest enchantment to put on any weapon in Minecraft is the Riptide enchantment. Surprisingly, this enchantment does not actually enhance the damage of your weapon. This enchantment does, however, allow you to teleport wherever you throw your Trident. Since the Riptide enchantment can only be used on Tridents, this makes it very rare and valuable indeed.
Riptide is one of the two enchantments that is Trident exclusive as no other weapons can allow you to teleport across the battlefield. Finding a Trident is also a bit more difficult than other weapons considering the fact that they cannot be crafted, and must be found on the Drowned enemies.
Riptide is one of the two rare enchantments that has niche conditions.
Find a Trident and obtain 30 levels of XP. Enchant a Trident using an Enchanting Table and select the Riptide enchantment.
These enemies are the only source of Tridents in Minecraft.

During a Thunderstorm, your Trident can now command the power of nature itself. When you toss your Trident, you will now toss your entire person. Be careful, as while you cannot die from fall damage, lava and Creepers are still just as deadly!! Keep in mind that this enchantment is basically useless unless there is currently a thunderstorm underway.
You can use Riptide to quickly and safely move from heights like this to the ground.
Any player would die from Fall Damage if attempting this without Riptide.
Q. Can you use Riptide on any other weapon with cheats?
As of now, you cannot use the console or cheats to get the Riptide enchantment on a sword. However, there are many mods for Minecraft Forge that implement this functionality into the game.
