Soul Torches are a unique alternative to the two most plentiful sources of light in Minecraft, theTorch and the Redstone Torch. They can be crafted just as easily as normal Torches but require access to the nether.
They even serve as functional wards against certain mobs in the Nether, making this one of the most useful and unique lighting items in the game.

Assemble the Torch Recipe with Coal in the top-center of the crafting grid, placing a stick below it. Now, simply add Soul Sand or Soul Soil below the Stick.
Soul Torches are very similar to normal Torches with a few notable differences. Soul Torches give off a blue-green glow which emits 40% less light as compared to normal torches, which means they do not melt Snow or Ice. However, these torches have a unique property, which is that they scare away Piglin mobs in the Nether. This allows you to create longer paths in the Nether while also maintaining a minimum level of security.

No, Soul Campfires and Lanterns have their own distinct recipes and do not require an existing Soul Torch.

Besides a weaker glow than normal Torches, Soul Torches cannot be used in place of Redstone Torches for Redstone engineering projects.
Soul Torches mostly serve the player as an attractive alternative to normal Torches.
