Elytras are rare treasures that can help players traverse through their entire Minecraft adventure. But with only 60 seconds of flight time per wing, how are players supposed to keep one around without going to the End City every 15 minutes? Well, players are able to defeat Phantoms and use their membranes to repair the Elytra.
As rare as the Elytra is, it can be hard to justify such a fragile item that takes up a chest armor slot. However, if players are clued into the anvil and repair system, they can save a lot of time by identifying valuable repair materials.
You can also optionally repair an Elytra with another identical item with more durability.
Use Phantom Membranes at an Anvil to restore the durability of an Elytra.

Like armor and weapons, you acn repair Elytra by combining two broken versions. In this instance, you will only receive about 5 durability points of profit, which means that you are better off storing broken Elytras for repairing with Phantom Membranes.
