To tame a horse in Minecraft, first, find a horse, then try repeatedly mounting it, and once the horse lets you mount it, place a saddle by right-clicking the horse. Then, click the horse and ride it wherever you like.
Horses were added to Minecraft in the extensive version 1.6 update. Horses are passive mobs in the game which can be ridden once tamed; the primary use for riding a horse is the sheer gain in speed, making traversing large distances of the map far more practical.
Horses can have 1 of 7 base colors: white, buckskin, flaxen chestnut, bay, black, dapple gray, and dark bay. Every horse will also exhibit 1 of 5 marking patterns, this all results in a total of 35 possible different horse designs. Here is how you can tame a horse in Minecraft.
Step 1) The first step will just be locating a horse, you'll find horses spawn in plains and savanna biomes, which are extremely common.
Step 2) Next, select an empty slot in your Hotbar as you must use your hand to tame the horse. You will tame a horse by repeatedly trying to mount the horse and getting bucked off.
Step 3) After the horse stops kicking you off, it is ready to be saddled. You can put a saddle on the horse by holding a saddle in your hand and right-clicking the horse.
Step 4) Now that you have tamed and put a saddle on the horse, all you have to do is right-click said horse in order to mount it. Use the same controls while riding that you do while running around in order to move the horse.
Step 5.) To dismount the horse, use your sneak key, which is usually set to left shift on the Java edition of Minecraft.
A. You can use hay bales, sugar, apples, bread, golden carrots, and golden apples to make taming a horse faster, however, food is not a requirement to taming; it simply only speeds the process up.

Taming a horse is one of the most easiest processes in the game and can be done by players of all levels.
