Frogspawn are the egg-state of a frog’s life cycle. They are non-solid blocks that float on the water’s surface. A frog will become pregnant and lay frogspawn after being fed slimeballs. Frogspawn will hatch into tadpoles, and the biome that the tadpole grows up in will determine the color of the frog that it turns into.
Frogspawn will only come from pregnant frogs. Feed two frogs a slimeball to have them enter love mode. Frogspawn does not spawn naturally and pregnant frogs will only lay frogspawn near water blocks with one block of air above it.

You can find frogs spawning in swamps and mangrove swamp biomes. They can also be spawned by growing tadpoles.
Tadpoles will grow from the frogspawn laid by frogs. Feed two frogs a slimeball to have them enter love mode, after which one of the frogs will be pregnant. A pregnant frog will search for a water block with one air block above it.
Frogspawn cannot be obtained when broken, even with a Silk Touch enchanted tool. This spawn can take up to 10 minutes to hatch, but once it does, 2-6 tadpoles will spawn from it. Keep in mind that the tadpole will grow up into a different color of frog depending on which biome it matures in.
You cannot obtain frogspawn eggs in Minecraft, you will need to allow them to hatch before you can catch the tadpoles in a bucket for transport. When destroyed, frogspawn will not drop anything, not even experience points.
