In Minecraft, there are many different types of potions. Some potions are great to drink as they can give you buffs like strength or regeneration, but some potions will do more harm than good. Some examples of these potions are potions of weakness or poison. To use the more harmful potions, you need to be able to throw the potions. This will make it into a projectile and to do this, you need to make a splash potion.

How to Make a Splash Potion in Minecraft?
Making a splash potion in Minecraft is a very simple process. You can make literally any of the potions in Minecraft into a splash potion. For this tutorial, we are going to be using the potion of harming.
To create a splash potion, you will need to acquire gunpowder. To get gunpowder, you need to kill a creeper.
Killing a creeper sounds difficult but it is actually pretty easy. Creepers will explode if they get close to you so all you need to do is hit the creeper and backup before it explodes then hit it again. Once you kill it, it will drop gunpowder.
Now that you have your gunpowder and your potion, you will need to go into your brewing stand.
To learn more about making a potion or using a brewing stand, check out this guide.
Simply put your piece of gunpowder into the top slot in the brewing stand and it will start the brewing process.
After 20 seconds, the process will complete and you will have splash potions instead of regular potions.
How to use Splash Potions in Minecraft?
Once you have acquired your splash potion, it is really easy to use it. All you have to do is look in the direction that you want to throw it in and right-click. This will throw your potion out of your hand and it will cast the effect of the potion on impact. At the best angle, you can throw your splash potion up to eight blocks away.
Q. How many different effects does a splash potion give?
A. Splash potion can only give one effect. This effect is based on which potion you make.
Q. Does a splash potion work on different mobs?
A. Depending on the effect of the splash potion, it can work on different mobs. Effects like instant healing will of course heal any passive mobs and spiders, but it will act as a harming potion to mobs like skeletons and zombies. Harming potions will of course harm any mob it touches with the exception of skeletons and zombies.
Now that you have created your splash potion, you can use it to throw potions and add effects to other mobs, or even yourself. If you are on half a heart and need some quick health, just look down and throw a splash potion of instant healing. If you need to do more damage to kill that annoying skeleton, throw a splash potion of strength. The possibilities are endless. Just make sure you have enough gunpowder.
