When one thinks of a valuable block, diamonds or emeralds might be the first thing that comes to mind. Both blocks are made of materials that are rare in the game. However, players cannot trade diamond and emerald blocks to villagers.

The bell must first be unlocked by trading other valuables with villagers. Players can level up the villagers by continuously trading.

Leveling up a villager unlocks more tradable items. The bell is one of them. Keep in mind that not every villager will sell a bell to a player.

However, players can identify villagers who will sell the bell based on the villager's job. The bell is unlocked at level two for the toolsmith and the armorer. The weaponsmith trades the bell at level three.

A bell can cost players around 36 emeralds. All villagers will sell the bell at the same price because it is a common item to trade for villagers.

Trading with 10 villagers of the same job will show how common the item is. All 10 toolsmiths and weaponsmiths will sell a bell to the player. However, two out of 10 armorer villagers will sell the bell.

A bell is used to alert other villagers about some danger. Bells alert villagers by making a loud sound similar to a large low toned bell. Villagers also gather around it to gossip.

The bell rings automatically during a raid. However, players can trigger the bell and send villagers rushing into their homes. Ringing the bell in Minecraft awards players a "sound the alarm" achievement.

Villagers gather around a bell to chat shortly before they go to bed. Minecraft villagers do this every day to socialize with one another.
