Conor McGregor is arguably the most famous MMA fighter of all time. The Notorious One has transcended from MMA into popular culture. His boxing match against Floyd Mayweather saw one of the highest pay-per-view buy rates of all time.

Conor McGregor returned to the UFC to face Khabib Nurmagamedov for the UFC Lightweight Championship. McGregor was submitted by Khabib in the 4th round of the fight.

#6 Fanboy Conor

Here we see a young Conor McGregor, aged 16, at his first UFC event. We see the fanboy side of the young McGregor as he poses with a totally shocked looking Chick Lidell.

The Iceman is a UFC Hall of Famer and has since heaped praise on McGregor since his debut in the UFC. McGregor has gone onto eclipse Lidell's success in the UFC as one of the most accomplished fighters to have ever stepped inside the Octagon.

McGregor faced Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match with the PPV having a whopping 4.3 million PPV buys - the second highest of all time after Mayweather vs Pacquiao.

Even though McGregor lost the match, he reportedly made more than a $100 million from it. The match also helped further cement McGregor's fame in the mainstream media.

#3 Conor's first fight in the UFC

Conor McGregor's UFC career started on UFC on Fuel on April 6, 2013. McGregor faced Marcus Brimmage in the prelims and made an immediate impact by knocking out the American 67 seconds into the fight.

Another interesting story behind this fight, McGregor almost missed the fight entirely. The day he was supposed to fly out, Conor almost missed his flight because he was bust collecting his £165 welfare check.

#2 Conor McGregor appearing in court

The media day before UFC wasn't a good day for the sport of mixed martial arts. During the media event, McGregor went to the Barclays Center venue looking for Khabib Nurmagomedov who had exchanged words with McGregor's pal Artem Lobov a few days prior.

McGregor then went to the parking lot and found Khabib's bus. After Khabib didn't come out, Conor threw a dolly through one of the windows of the bus, injuring Ray Borg and Michael Chiesa who were forced to withdraw from the card.

Conor was charged with assault and this photo is of him appearing in court.

Conor was was totally outclasses by Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, submitting in the 4th round. After all of Conor's antics, it was Khabib who finally silenced him. In this photo, McGregor can be seen looking on in despair after losing to Khabib.
