Light heavyweight prospects Ryan Spann and Nikita Krylov were scheduled to headline UFC Vegas 70 on Saturday night. However, the main event fell through at the last minute with Krylov calling in sick.

The details and nature of Krylov's illness were revealed during the announcement made during the live broadcast.

Megan Olivi stated that 'The Miner' had fallen sick and was rendered unable to compete by the medicos after they did their best to make him octagon-ready. Olivi also mentioned that the Ukrainian was administered fluids.

UFC Vegas 70 has a new main event

The middleweight clash between Andre Muniz and Brendan Allen, originally slated to co-headline the card, was promoted to main event status. Muniz, currently undefeated in five UFC outings, is riding a magnificent nine-fight win streak that started in 2017.

Meanwhile, 'All In' racked up a three-fight winning streak last year after getting starched by Chris Curtis in December 2021.

Currently ranked number 6 on the light heavyweight ladder, Nikita Krylov misses out on the first headliner opportunity of his career. 'The Miner' is coming off a decision win over Volkan Oezdemir which was preceded by a first-round KO win over former champ Alexander Gustafsson.

Coming off consecutive first-round stoppage wins, Ryan Spann also missed out on his sophomore UFC main event.
