Christian Lee says his sister, reigning atomweight queen Angela Lee, is in “good spirits” following a devastating loss to Xiong Jing Nan at ONE on Prime Video 2 in September.

Angela Lee and Xiong competed against one another for the third time, closing out a trilogy that will go down in the history books as one of the greatest rivalries in women’s mixed martial arts history.

With the opportunity to become a two-division world champion, Angela Lee gave it everything she had. However, it wasn’t enough in the eyes of the judges. Though many felt that Lee did more than enough to secure a victory, it was Xiong who was crowned the winner via unanimous decision.

Ahead of his own bid to become a two-division world champion, Christian Lee sat down for an interview with ONE Championship and revealed how his older sister is holding up following the disappointing decision:

“I'm glad to see that Angela has been in good spirits, she hasn't really let it bring her down. From what I can see, it hasn't affected her too much. And I think she knows that she fought as hard as she could have. And you can't really control what the judges are going to think, and whose hand they're going to raise when it goes to a decision.”

‘The Warrior’ continued:

“I think from what I can see, she's at peace with it. And I'm glad that she's not being hard on herself. Because she has so much heart and skill in that fight. I think we're all proud of her.”

Angela Lee will be traveling to Singapore to corner her husband at ONE 163

While Angela Lee’s return to the Circle is unknown at this point, the women’s atomweight world champion will make her presence known at ONE 163 when she corners her husband, Bruno Pucci. Taking to Instagram, Lee wrote:

“Recovery date with the hubby ❤️ In 4 days, we fly off to Singapore, and Bruno will be fighting on ONE 163 next Saturday!!! As lifelong athletes, we only recently started to make recovery a priority. We wish we started doing this years ago! We ask so much of our bodies. We put it through grueling training sessions, hard sparring days, over and over again. We need to make the time to recover properly! A good sleep isn't gonna cut it! 😆 (Although sleep is super important and often overlooked too 🙌🏼) If you're a Hawaii athlete, check out @holtfithawaii 🔥”

After dropping back-to-back fights, Pucci will look to get back into the win column against Kirill Gorobets. Debuting at ONE: Lights Out in March, Gorobets fell short against former two-division world Martin ‘The Situ-Asian’ Nguyen.
