Citing Jake Paul being long with negotiations, KSI plans to go "straight for" Tommy Fury

KSI has decided to publicly state his interest in a fight against Tommy Fury as opposed to Jake Paul, despite the battle between the two YouTubers being arguably the grandest fight of the pair's careers.

The 'YouTube' boxing scene has become an ever-growing force in sports entertainment in recent years and 'JJ' is at the forefront of that growth. Owning his own promotion called Misfits Boxing, the UK star is hoping to put on spectacles for viewers as well as compete for his tens of millions of fans on social media.

In an attempt to rile up Jake Paul, KSI has insisted that he is done trying to negotiate with the influencer. He will instead set his focus on a big matchup against Tommy Fury later this year:

"At this point, after I beat a pro boxer on May 13th, I'm gonna go straight for Tommy Fury. Jake Paul is being long with negotiations."

Jake has been calling for a fight against KSI for several years. He has even offered to step up on short notice and not get paid just to share the ring with the Brit, but the bout never managed to come to fruition.

Last time out, the former Disney star put his skills to the test against life-long boxer Tommy Fury and ultimately came up short, which has damaged his standing within the sport.

The pair have been at each other's throats dating back to 'JJ's first pro boxing win against Logan Paul over three years ago. 'The Problem Child' is still insistent on facing the 29-year-old, but the two sides will ultimately have to compromise if they ever want to settle their differences in the squared circle.

With Jake Paul out of the picture, who is KSI fighting next?

As announced above, KSI is expecting to return to the ring on May 13th for MF & DAZN X Series 7, an ongoing string of boxing events featuring a large number of popular internet celebrities.

While just rumors at present, the Londoner will likely fight undefeated boxer, Joe Fournier. The latter sits at 9-0 in the sport despite losing an exhibition bout against David Haye two years ago.

Though it is a big step up for KSI, his opponent is 40 years of age and will likely give up a sizeable advantage in athleticism if the two are matched up in the near future.
