Jon Jones is set to return to the octagon after a lengthy layover to challenge for the heavyweight title. His time in the light heavyweight division has already cemented him as one of the greatest to ever step into the octagon and a newer challenge will only substantiate his legacy.
Even OpenAI's latest artificial intelligence tool, ChatGPT, seems to rate Jones highly as it ranked him first in response to a question about the top 10 mixed martial arts fighters of all time.
A Reddit user posted ChatGPT's response that had Jon Jones topping the list, followed by Georges St-Pierre, Demetrious Johnson, Anderson Silva, and Khabib Nurmagomedov to round out the top five. Conor McGregor was slotted in at the tenth position.

Fans reacted to the list by lauding ChatGPT's answer:
"GPT knows his sh!t"
"Yea its actually a pretty good list. GPT is less than a casual than most of us lol"
"I didn't even realize that Jones is that far ahead."
Fans also lauded the opponent's win percentage, which was factored in by the chatbot for its list.
"This is a great PfP list, in my opinion. Adding the opponent win %'s really helps legitimize it."
A fan also pointed out Khabib Nurmagomedov's superior opponent's win record percentage despite the popular consensus around his opponent's being that they had a poorer pedigree.
"Sort of funny how khabibs opponent win % is higher than a few people on this list, would not have guessed that at all given how many people shame him fighting cans early in his career when all prospects around the world refused to fight him"
Tom Aspinall says Jon Jones reach advantage will be negated at heavyweight
Ahead of Jon Jones' blockbuster title fight against Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight championship at UFC 285, Tom Aspinall weighed in on the move up a weight class for the veteran fighter.
The injured UFC heavyweight spoke to Jamal Niaz in an interview on YouTube and mentioned that Jones won't be able to take advantage of his reach in the heaviest division.
Aspinall said:
“The massive advantage that he has amongst the light heavyweights is he’s got a massive reach advantage, so he gets a lot of takedowns with like, the length of his arms and the leverage he gets behind his takedowns. But I’m saying the leverage that he gets with his size advantage is incredible at light heavyweight. Whereas at heavyweight, it’s like an average size."
Jon Jones has asserted that he intends to walk out at UFC 285 as the heavyweight champion and prove his capabilities across weight classes.
