At ONE Fight Night 8 on March 24, Tammi Musumeci will step inside the circle for the very first time.

Whilst ONE Championship fans may be familiar with her younger brother Mikey Musumeci, the flyweight submission grappling world champion, they may not be aware of his sibling’s accolades.

Between the two, they have won everything there is to possibly win in submission grappling, and a big reason for that is their dynamic with each other. After falling in love with jiu-jitsu earlier in life, Tammi and Mikey have served as training partners for one another, allowing them to practice techniques whenever they want from their childhood home.

In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Tammi spoke about how she is able to adapt her grappling game depending on the gender of her opponent. Whilst she may have learned her trade by grappling with her brother, she knows how to adjust her skillset to compete against women.

She said:

“Guys tend to be a little stronger, and girls are a little more aggressive, which also had to get time to get used to, but it's a different game with guys and girls.”

Fans in North America can catch Tammi’s promotional debut and more at ONE Fight Night 8, live and for free via Prime Video with an active Amazon subscription.

Tammi Musumeci admits she doesn’t want to pursue a full-time jiu-jitsu career

Despite Tammi Musumeci’s list of accolades in submission grappling, she doesn’t ever see herself training and competing in Brazilian jiu-jitsu full-time.

Her brother Mikey Musumeci has been able to build his passion into his career. As a five-time IBJJF world champion and current holder of ONE’s flyweight submission grappling title, ‘Darth Rigatoni’ has already produced an incredible career.

At ONE Fight Night 8 on March 24, Tammi Musumeci will follow in her younger brother’s footsteps as she makes her first walk to the circle to take on Bianca Basilio.

As excited as she is for the opportunity to compete under the ONE banner, Tammi still has other goals that she wants to accomplish away from competing in martial arts.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Tammi Musumeci said:

“I could never train full-time, even if I had the option,” Musumeci revealed. “I would just never do it. I also have goals outside of jiu-jitsu in my professional life that I want to reach. I just don’t ever put that as an option for myself to do.”

What some fans may not know about Tammi is that when she isn’t competing in submission grappling, she works as an attorney after graduating from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada in 2020.
