Watch: Stephen Thompson posts graphic video of sewing up the nasty cut that Kevin Holland gave him

UFC 217: Thompson v Masvidal
UFC fan-favorite and striking wizard Stephen Thompson

Stephen Thompson took to his official Twitter account to post a graphic video of himself getting a gruesome cut sewn up. 'Wonderboy' sustained a couple of cuts to his forehead during his most recent octagon appearance.

The kickboxing veteran and two-time UFC welterweight title challenger faced the mercurial Kevin Holland in a welterweight bout that headlined the UFC Fight Night card on December 3.

Both 'Wonderboy' and 'Trailblazer' had their moments in the grueling matchup. Nevertheless, it was Thompson who ultimately prevailed via fourth-round TKO after Holland's corner threw in the towel between rounds four and five.

While Kevin Holland hurt his right hand during their showdown, Stephen Thompson suffered considerable damage to his face. A professional model and actor, Thompson subsequently tweeted a video of him getting his facial wounds stitched up and jested that Holland may have jeopardized his modeling career.

Accompanied by his brother-in-law and former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman, Thompson seemed to be in high spirits while getting the stitches. Furthermore, 'Wonderboy' attached a statement alongside the video, which read as follows:

"*GRAPHIC CONTENT* @trailblaze2top might have hindered my modeling career but man that fight was every bit worth it! Thank you my friend! S/O @chrisweidman for asking for that IG worthy cut spread #UFCOrlando #DogFight #HowsMyFace"

Stephen Thompson sends out heartwarming message to Kevin Holland

Following his victory over Kevin Holland, Stephen Thompson suggested that he'd like to face other strikers and put on entertaining fights rather than get out-grappled and outpointed by grappling specialists.

Furthermore, the veteran fighter insinuated that he intends to make another run for the UFC welterweight title. Thompson's next opponent and exact comeback date haven't been officially announced yet.

That said, 39-year-old Stephen Thompson has been the talk of the town since his vintage performance against the 30-year-old Kevin Holland.

'Wonderboy,' for his part, tweeted a video expressing his appreciation for all the support he'd previously received and for the respect he's getting now. Thanking his fans as well as Holland in a heartwarming video, Thompson stated:

"What's up guys, I've been looking through my social media [and I've] seen all the comments, all the love, I want to say thank you guys so much, I appreciate it. [I'm] a little banged up, but I'm feeling good. Thank you Kevin Holland for everything, my brother. It was a war and I appreciate [you]. We got fight of the night, baby, let's go!"
