What's the story?

Just when we thought the rather ugly public disagreement between Dana White and Cris 'Cyborg' Justino had come to a close, there appears to be another chapter about to unfold in this particularly complicated story.

During a meeting with journalists after last night's episode of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series, the UFC President sensationally claimed that if Cris Cyborg truly wants a rematch with Amanda Nunes “She just needs to call me tomorrow”.

In case you didn't know

Cyborg and White have been in an all-too-public back and forth since Cyborg's contract with the UFC came to an end at UFC 240.

Since then, Justino has accused her former boss of being a liar and a bully. Meanwhile, Dana White has defended himself and stated it is, in fact, Cyborg who is bending the truth to avoid being matched with Nunes again in the UFC.

The feud looked as though it had ended last week, when Cyborg put out a public apology to Dana White, who had previously declared himself 'out of the Cris Cyborg business'.

The heart of the matter

Remarkably, it didn't take long for Cyborg to respond to White's invitation to open up talks again.

Bloody Elbow report responded to White via Twitter shortly after the statement...

“Dana White will be in contact tomorrow with @ParadigmSM (ie. her manager, Audie Attar).”

The tweet has now been deleted from Cyborg's Twitter page.

What's next?

There will be no shortage of offers from MMA promoters around the world looking to secure the services of one of MMA's most legendary fighters. However, the prospect of Nunes vs Cyborg II just won't go away. It is undeniably the biggest fight that can currently be made in women's mixed martial arts right now.

As things stand, Cyborg and White are going to have to find a way to put aside their significant differences if we are going to see this money-spinning rematch at any time in the future.
