In a series of angry tweets on Tuesday morning, Paulo Costa launched a verbal assault on the UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya in full force.

The tweet has since been deleted, but he has continued to tweet about it in a mocking manner. No names were mentioned, but the content was enough to indicate it was in relation to the axe he has to grind with Adesanya.

Costa is ready to "kill" Adesanya

Costa took to Twitter on Tuesday to call the Champion "skinny and fragile" and claimed that he was afraid to fight against powerful fighters like himself.

Here is a screenshot of the deleted tweet.

When a commented replied saying that it would not be wise to pick a fight with the entire continent of Africa by making such comments, Costa clarified that he had his eyes set on only one.

In follow up tweets, Costa went on emphasizing on the matter, but in not so many words.

Costa did not leave the media out of this either and went on a tirade about how biased they are in Portuguese.

Despite all these social media talks, the date of Costa's return to the Octagon is still uncertain. The fighter is claiming he will recover from his injury and consequent surgery and will be ready for a fight by early 2020, but the UFC President says something different.

In an interview in November, Dana White said that the doctors had an altogether different opinion about Costa's recovery and return.

"Well, Costa tore his bicep, so he had to have surgery. He’s claiming he’ll be back sooner than he will be. That’s not what the doctor is telling me. So that’s not true."

The last fight 'Borrachinha' fought was against Yoel Romero back in August, which he won via Decision. Whether he gets to take his social media brawl with Adesanya to the cage, time will tell.
