Dale Earnhardt Jr. talking to Fox Sports, NBC about NASCAR broadcasting gig
By far the sports most popular driver, hell be coveted by any media entity involved in NASCAR.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. is in talks about a NASCAR television analyst role with both Fox Sports and NBC Sports, SportsBusiness Journal reports (link requires subscription).
The news is not a surprise. Earnhardt Jr. announced in April that he is retiring from racing at season’s end, and as by far the sport’s most popular driver, he’ll be coveted by any media entity involved in NASCAR.
Also, he has mentioned the possibility of pursuing a post-racing broadcasting career and has demonstrated plenty of potential during guest appearances on Fox’s and NBC’s NASCAR coverage.
While neither network appears to have an opening in its booth, we’re certain either would make room for Dale Jr.
