Bangalore, 21st November 2012: Every year, the best known names in motorsports and scores of spectators flock to the picturesque town of Chikmagalur to participate in the annual Coffee Day Rally. The Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) 2013 will commence its fifth round at Chikmagalur on Thursday, 19th December and will see about 40 rally cars challenge each other on newly created dirt routes. The rally will flag off from Amber Valley Residential School, Chikmagalur in reverse order for the Super Special Stage and from ABC Trading Co. premises on 20th December.

Sponsored by Coffee Day in association with Volkswagen and organized by Motor Sports Club of Chikmagalur (MSCC) and hosted by The Serai Resorts, Chikmagalur the seventh Indian National Rally Championship will be held under the aegis of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI). The Rally will cover a total distance of 279.70 kms, with a special stage distance of 110.50 kms and a total liaison distance of 167.70 kms.

Mr. K. Farooq Ahmed, Vice President, MSCC, said, “We are very pleased with the initial response of participants and expect the rally this year to be even more challenging than the previous edition. With the addition of new routes and the participation of drivers from abroad we aim to take the rally to the next level this year.”

The spectator Super Special Stage of the rally will run on dirt surface in Amber Valley Residential School, Chikmagalur. The cars will start in reverse order in the Super Special Stage with a time interval of 3 minutes between two cars.

Karamjit Singh, driving for Slideways Industries in Volkswagen Motorsport-developed Polo R2 has been producing excellent results and leading the IRC category. The final closing date for the rally entries is Friday, December 6th, 2013.
