When is the 2018 Daytona 500?

With the 2017 Monster Energy Cup Series season wrapping up Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, it's never to early to start thinking about next season, which begins just up the road at Daytona International Speedway in February. 

The 2018 Daytona 500 activities begin on Friday, Feb. 9 with Cup Series practices which kick off an action-packed Speedweeks schedule. Leading up to NASCAR’s Great American Race on Feb. 18, there will be plenty of practice, qualifying and qualifying races.

Here are some key race dates for the Daytona 500 and Speedweeks 2018:

As a reminder, qualifying for the Daytona 500 is scheduled for noon ET on Sunday, Feb. 11 on Fox, but only the front row will be set through the first round of Daytona's unique qualifying format. The front row will be determined through single-lap time-trial runs, with the rest of the field to be set through the two duel qualifying races on Feb. 15.
