Amagi Izuno’s Background

Amagi's past is shrouded in a great deal of mystery. Besides the fact that she is head of the renowned Izuno clan, little is known about her past, parents, or abilities. She only made a few fleeting cameos in the anime. She has no appearances or mentions in the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga and is only part of the Boruto anime, meaning she is a non-canon character in the series. It was stated in the anime that Amagi frequently told her granddaughter Wasabi Izuno tales about their clan and jutsu as she grew older. Wasabi stopped believing the narrative and eventually started to believe it was something her grandma had made up since she made the jutsu sound more impressive each time she repeated it.

She made her anime debut in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations' episode 224, "The Legend of the Monster Cat". Amagi made her debut during the Chunin Re-Examination in the series. In the anime, Amagi visited her granddaughter before her match during the chunin exam finals with Wasabi’s parents to praise and express how confident they were in Wasabi’s abilities. She gave Wasabi a scroll with the jutsu that appeared in her stories before she left. Wasabi confessed to Iwabee her lack of confidence in her own abilities and the pressure she felt from not meeting her family's expectations in the middle of the game, but Mazuma Izuno, Wasabi's mother, covered Amagi's ears to prevent her from hearing her granddaughter. When Wasabi used their clan's jutsu to save Iwabee, Amagi was proud and impressed.

After these appearances, Amagi has not returned. Thus, it's hard to tell whether she's dead or alive because she has not made any more appearances yet in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. We currently believe Amagi to be well and alive, unless any new information comes to light to the contrary.

Amagi’s Personality

Amagi had a very limited appearance so very little is known about her or her personality. Amagi is thought to be a compassionate and responsible person based on her brief appearance in the series. She is very passionate about her family, especially Wasabi, her granddaughter. Even though Wasabi often underestimates her own abilities, Amigo always believes in her granddaughter and her abilities. She believes that Wasabi would one day live a life of greatness. As she is quite old, she often seems to have been somewhat senile as she would often alter the narrative of her stories.

Amagi’s Appearance

Amagi is a short, wrinkled, elderly woman in appearance and is also lacking the top right tooth. She wears her white hair in a bun. She is seen dressed in green robes, a grey shirt over them, and informal sandals.

Amagi’s Abilities

Amagi is the head of the Izuno clan, a title given only to exceptional individuals. Based on her title, it can be stated that Amagi is well-versed and is a master in all the Izuno clan’s cat-based techniques. Although we haven’t had the chance to see Amagi in action, it can be said that she was probably a renowned kunoichi in her era.
