Lightning Release is part of the five basic nature transformations. It is the technique that causes a lot of destruction and havoc. This technique has its drawback as the storm clouds aren't always present and available. Thus the user might sometimes need to generate artificial storm clouds.
If a user wants to use Lightning Release they must convert their chakra into electricity. A simple way to use this electricity is to transfer it to the ninja tools and increase the weapon's attack power and it can numb anyone who comes in contact with the weapon.
The shinobis of Kumogakure use Lightning Release and make various applications of it. They use Lightning as a medium for genjutsu which helps to capture people easily in it. They can use Black Lightning. They can also coat their body with electricity which acts as a shield and prevents any harm caused to them. It also helps to enhance their strength for their physical attacks. It is said that Lightning Release users shouldn't wear metallic accessories.
Lightning Release is strong against Earth Release and is weak against Wind Release. If Lightning Release is used with Water Release it can increase the range of lightning and it can also give the water a numbing effect. The Hōzuki clan makes use of Water Release a lot and is vulnerable to Lightning Release. When Lightning Release is combined with other natures, Kekkai Genkai like Storm Release, a combination of lightning and water, or Explosion Release, a combination of lightning and earth are produced.
In this, the user wraps their body in a layer of lightning chakra and the more they use lighting chakra, the more their hair stands up. It helps increase their taijutsu. It is also used as a defense and helps the user deflect the attacks. It also enhances the user's nervous system which enhances their speed and reaction time.
As the name suggests, the user surrounds themselves with lighting in the form of Armour. The intense electric field enhances their speed and it also electrocuted anyone who makes contact with it.
It is a combination of lightning and water release. Unlike its name, it does not manipulate storms, instead, it manipulates electricity which flows like water. It also produces Storm clouds charged with lightning.
It is the high concentration of lightning chakra which is channeled into the user's hand and this was created by Kakashi Hatake. It can pierce through a person and can kill them instantly. This makes it useful for assassinations. However, it requires a lot of chakras and can only be used within a limit.
It is the natural lightning drawn from Thunder clouds and controlled with chakra. If there are no Thunder clouds, the user must create them by using fire techniques to produce the necessary storm conditions. The lightning can be shaped with the help of a chakra.
In this, the user shoots bolts of electricity from their hand to strike a target. It can be used as a lightning Cutter and you can quickly strike targets with it.
Boruto is the son of Naruto. He is the total opposite of his father, with him being a prodigy and mastering 3 nature transformations already. He trained with Sasuke which him refine his Lightning Release and he can even add it to his Rasengan which turns it into a Vanishing Rasengan. He can also charge his weapons with electricity to increase their cutting power.
Mitsuki is the synthetic being created by Orochimaru. Orochimaru thinks that Mitsuki has the potential than that of the Legendary Sannin. He is quite proficient in Lightning Release and uses it the most. His techniques are so strong that he can even hurt a Jonin.
Darui, the Fifth Raikage of Kumogakure was a student of the Third Raikage and was the right-hand man of the Fourth Raikage. He is known for his magnificent use of Lightning Release. He can also use black Lightning which he learned from the Third Raikage himself.
The Third Raikage was exceptional and a phenomenal ninja. He was a great user of Lightning Release he could use Lightning Release Armour which couldn't be penetrated by anybody. He also used black Lightning which was considered stronger than regular lightning.
Sasuke had learned Chidori from Kakashi. He broadened the use of Chidori's chakra and used it for long-distance attacks too. He could even use the Six Paths to his Lightning Release, which made him very strong. He uses natural lightning whenever he used Kirin and also uses Fire Release to produce ideal weather conditions for lightning.
Kakashi is the Jonin known as the Copy Ninja of Konoha and thus he uses all five types of natural transformations but his biggest strength is Lightning Release. For Chidori, he gathers Lightning chakra in his hand and it can severely injure anyone who touches it. He also created Raikiri and Purple Lightning which he developed after losing his Sharingan.
