Life of Urashiki Otsutsuki

Urashiki Otsutsuki appeared for the first time in Boruto as an Otsutsuki main family spy, and he was sent to assist and steal Tailed Beast Chakra.

Momoshiki Arc

Toneri Otsutsuki, the head of the branch family, had decided earlier to defend the planet from his clansmen, and Urashiki was tasked with dealing with him. Toneri wonders if there are any additional Otsutsuki, and Urashiki sarcastically responds that the entire main family of the clan is still alive.

He then mockingly reminds Toneri that he failed to destroy the planet and reveals that the main family was drawn to Earth since they witnessed the entire event. Then, Urashiki asks Toneri why he gave the Jogan to Boruto Uzumaki and why he still wants to defend it after a humiliating defeat.

Toneri resists Urashiki's attempts to convince him that his acts would be seen as a betrayal and reminded him that the clan had led him to believe he was the only survivor and that they had no knowledge of Earth. Urashiki then easily immobilizes him with his fishing rod.

Urashiki says he wants to kill Toneri, but the main family has forbidden him from doing so. Instead, he decides to imprison Toneri for 10,000 years in the Palace of the Dragon King before returning to Earth.

Then he departs from the Moon. When Urashiki discovers the status of the Earth's Chakra fruit and Kaguya while searching for it, he approaches Momoshiki Otsutsuki and Kinshiki Otsutsuki to tell them about his discovery to make fun of how serious they are. Still, Momoshiki's Rinnegan causes him to back off.

The three then traveled to Earth, where Urashiki gave the two information about what had happened to Kaguya after she had run away to Earth and eaten the God Tree chakra, which had split into Nine-Tailed beasts, one of which was controlled by Killer B and the other by Naruto Uzumaki.

One Tail Escort Arc

He approaches Gaara a few days later and before leaving, Urashiki grabs Gaara's tailed beast chakra as he knew that he was once Shukaku's jinchuriki.

Later, while Momoshiki and Kinshiki attacked the Chunin Exams, Urashiki saw Mitsuki employing an odd power. He used his fishing rod and took his special Sage mode Chakra.

Urashiki said, "Humans don't deserve chakra," and was about to kill him when Chojuro and Gaara attacked. The two managed to lure him into a trap after originally repelled them, forcing him to unleash his Rinnegan to escape.

A few days after the event, Urashiki stated that Boruto Uzumaki was the boy that Toneri had been watching and that he would one day pose a threat to the clan as he looked over the destroyed stump of the God Tree where Momoshiki was killed. Urashiki even warned his fellow members that Boruto could be a big threat in the future for them.

Due to his student's distraction, Urashiki used his hook to penetrate Sasuke and take his Chakra before transporting him to another dimension. Shinki blocked the attack as Urashiki tried to take more Chakra from Gaara. Shukaku and Gaara attacked Urashiki, and the Tsutsuki but they managed to avoid most of the blows before being momentarily sealed.

Urashiki used four puppets to pursue his target while the shinobi rushed to protect Shukaku at Konoha. The puppets finally caught up to the shinobi the following day, and Kankur was rendered helpless.

Shinki and Boruto fight Urashiki.

The genin managed to temporarily seal Urashiki once more, knowing they were powerless against him; however, Urashiki deemed the trick unnecessary. After escaping again, he searched for them, trying to find the most plausible routes they would take to go to Konohagakure.

The hunter soon rendered the two prey's efforts useless as they concentrated all their efforts on avoiding Urashiki. He killed Shinki, who turned out to be a disguised Boruto Clone. Knowing the truth, Urashiki used Shikadai's Shadow Imitation Technique to immobilize Boruto and reveal that the kettle was also a fake.

He was irritated that he had been duped, but he decided Boruto would make a good prisoner. The return of Shinki, who had already given Shukaku to other Konoha-nin, derailed his plan.

In the interest of Urashiki, Boruto's right eye responded to the conflict between him and Shinki by revealing the Jogan. The two genin could trick Urashiki and score a critical hit thanks to the eye's ability to recognize his dimensional hopping.

Urashiki, impressed and irritated by their efforts, decided to defeat the exhausted enemies but was thwarted by Sasuke. Urashiki withdrew in response to this. He reappeared with his desire to steal tailed beast chakra becoming stronger. He chose to travel to Konohagakure after focusing on Naruto for Kurama's chakra and attacked the patrol unit of the village, took Mirai's communication device, and took her chakra.

He tricked most of the village's shinobi into leaving the town to chase Mirai. Their movements were being controlled and dissimulated as Urashiki used her genjutsu after learning his clan's relic Karasuki was in the community's possession.

Time Slip Arc

Then, after getting Karasuki, he used her to go back in time and kidnap the Chakra of the Nine-Tails when Naruto was a young boy. He enters a void after activating the relic after being found by Sasuke and Boruto. As a result, the two pursue him and separate him from Karasuki which causes him to arrive in the past a few days later.

Urashiki approached Naruto, who was with the couple, and used his hook to puncture the jinchuriki but his fuinjutsu prevented him from extracting Chakra. He uses his line to confine Naruto since he has no other option.

He avoids the attacks and, with the pair now joined by Jiraiya, uses an Earth Release technique to trap the trio before departing. He holds Naruto in a cave while attempting to harvest Chakra from the boy's subconscious, which results in him being burned and driven out with little Chakra.

To his amazing surprise, his wound gets cured after consuming the chakra. The chakra of the Nine-Tails guards Naruto as it tries to extract more. He succeeds in impaling Sasuke with his hook with the help of the three Konoha shinobi but cannot release Sasuke's chakra because of the new fuinjutsu that was applied to him.

He uses Yomotsu Hirasaka as he retreats to reformulate a plan. Later, while Naruto and Boruto are practicing together, Urashiki travels to their location and starts launching jutsu attacks at them. He strikes Jiraiya and Sasuke after weakening Boruto and then using his own jutsu on Jiraiya. He uses his blue Rinnegan to transport behind Jiraiya and attack him after noticing that he is being approached from behind.

Then he boasted to his enemies that he could predict their future moves. Finally, Sasuke rushed Urashiki, tackling the two of them over a ledge and into the river to allow his teammates a chance to flee after realizing that their enemy's special skills were too strong for the group to handle without a thorough understanding.

Urashiki came from the river, furious at Sasuke's continuous interference, and decided to go after the Uchiha first. He quickly discovered Sasuke had been pulled from the water and taken somewhere else. Jiraiya and the others instantly launched an attack on him. Urashiki's technique easily evaded the Konoha-shinobi until they unexpectedly withdrew. They were swiftly pursued by Urashiki using his Byakugan.

Then Jiraiya summoned Toad Mouth Bind to confine everyone. During this time, Naruto continued to attack Urashiki with clones. His method easily stopped the attack, but the acidic vapors from the huge toad's belly quickly poisoned him.

Since Urashiki could travel several seconds back in time, doing so caused him to pass out far faster than the Konoha-shinobi did. Jiraiya released the summoning, and Naruto and Boruto then used a Rasengan attack to defeat Urashiki.

Urashiki was able to stand up while staying stubborn. The angry man decided to use all of his stored chakras because he was exhausted and unable to continue fighting in his current state. He smugly took out both of his eyeballs and ate them after deciding that wasn't enough.

The finished outcome changed him into a sinister creature with tremendous physical strength. Even with Sasuke's assistance, Jiraiya and the two genin were quickly defeated by Urashiki's relentless attacks.

Urashiki purposefully withheld information from Naruto to enrage him enough to release the Chakra of the Nine-Tails. In the end, his tactics were successful, and Naruto went on the rampage. However, Boruto found Naruto, and the two perfect their new method of working together. Jiraiya and Sasuke's combined efforts allowed the two Uzumaki boys to repel Urashiki's final assault and eliminate him successfully.

Personality

Urashiki has been shown to have a relaxed and cheerful attitude. He is quite willing to laugh with Momoshiki and Kinshiki and mocks their seriousness. He is dedicated to his clan, and while he is not above joking when on a mission, he nevertheless follows the rules.

While wishing to murder Toneri, he followed his clan's regulations and paralyzed him instead. Urashiki was like his other clan members, who were arrogant, and looked down on the shinobi world as weak before him.

Urashiki doesn't compliment others much because he thinks he is the best. Still, after seeing Mitsuki's Sage Mode chakra, he said that it's surprising to see a human having this amazing chakra.

Taking extreme risks, such as commanding a Konoha shinobi to approach the hidden leaf to grab an artifact that would help him achieve his aim. His big ego and self-esteem were bigger than anything because when Boruto, after breaking his horn, despite being the vessel for Momoshiki's Kama, which he deliberately ignores.

Appearance

Urashiki wore his greyish-blue ragged short, spiky hair in a ponytail and, like the rest of his clan, he had brown horns that grew from the back of his head and wrapped around his forehead with a little space in between. He also kept the traditional cut brows as a mark of royalty.

He was dressed in a long-sleeved, light-colored suit with a sectioned apron and a sash. During a fight with Boruto Uzumaki, his Rasengan damaged the majority of his right horn. Urashiki transformed into a devilish, winged form after consuming all of his chakra and both eyes. His digits grew into extended talons; he could use his shredded sleeves as wings while fighting with his clawed feet.

His eyes turned golden, and a golden Rinnegan appeared on his brow. His face and legs were covered with black asymmetrical markings, and his hair grew long and wild, while his horns resembled flared wings, with the shattered right horn only partially formed.

Abilities

Urashiki Otsutsuki is strong as even though he was a low-rank Otsutsuki clan member, he could still handle two Kage by himself. His strength is shown to be superior to Jiraiya of the legendary Sannin and Sasuke Uchiha (after being weakened from his chakra stolen earlier).

Urashiki possesses tremendous physical strength and is capable of shattering the earth and quickly shocking and knocking Choujoro away with a single kick. He is also extremely swift and graceful, with exceptional evasive ability, allowing him to readily avoid Choujoro and Gaara's attacks.

He is also quite capable and versatile with his fishing rod in combat, effortlessly blocking a strike from the extremely talented swordsman Choujoro, even taunting him for how easy he blocked his attack. Urashiki is extremely sneaky, as seen by his ability to easily sneak through the Thunder Palace to reach Gaara and remain hidden while penetrating the Chunin Exam Arena and catching Mitsuki off guard.

Ninjutsu

Copy Ability

Urashiki's signature ability is to manifest an extending thread and fishing hood using a flexible chakra rod. Using it, he can pierce through powerful defenses and bodies to harvest chakra from a target and store it within his gourd that allows him to use its owner's abilities.

As a result, he learned Gaara's Sand methods, easily countering his Sand: Hand technique with his own and quickly molding the sand into a huge boulder, as well as Mitsuki's Lightning Release technique, easily causing significant pain to the robust Chojuro.

By swinging his rod, he can also send a massive barrage of fish hooks at his opponent. Urashiki can immobilize an opponent for ten thousand years using the Palace of the Dragon King. He can transport himself and others beyond dimensions by using Yomotsu Hirasaka

Urashiki can also easily breach powerful barriers, as he did when he broke through the barrier erected on the Thunder Palace that Gaara was riding on to go to Konoha, claiming it was as simple as breaking through paper.

Dojutsu

He possesses the Byakugan, which provides him with a nearly 360° range of view, x-ray vision, and the capacity to see through the chakra pathway system. He can readily see through practically any fighting tactic and attack pattern used against him with it.

Urashiki can also turn his left eye into a red Rinnegan with six tomoe, identical to Sasuke's Rinnegan. This allowed him to avoid the enormous water surge Choujoro exposed him to.

Trivia

  1. Masashi Kishimoto had intended Urashiki to be the third member of Momoshiki's group in Boruto: Naruto the Movie, but he and Toneri were removed due to time concerns. In the Naruto Shippuden episode "A Fabricated Past," his silhouette appears in a flashback. Later, he appeared in the anime adaptations of the Versus Momoshiki Arc, the One-Tail Escort Arc, and the Time Slip Arc.
  2. Urashiki, like his friends Momoshiki and Kinshiki, was named after a Japanese folk hero whose name incorporates the word "Taro," in this case, the legendary fisherman Urashima Taro. His waistcloth and chakra rod weapon were also inspired by the folktale, as were his time-related skills, such as his ultimate avian metamorphosis, as some versions of the story conclude with Urashima transforming into a crane.

Did you know?

  1. Urashiki does not appear in the manga, despite being a key antagonist in the anime adaptation.
