Team Penske driver Joey Logano clinched his third Cup Series title in the 2024 season and is now spending time with his family for Thanksgiving. Recently he shared a clip of his son Hudson doing laps on a dirt track ahead of the festival.
Logano has been married to Brittany Bacca for ten years and the couple have three kids, namely, Hudson Joseph Logano, Jameson Logano, and Emilia Love Logano. The Team Penske driver's daughter is only two years old, and his son Jameson has a keen interest in animals, while his oldest son Hudson is fond of racing cars.
Joey Logano shared a video of his son Hudson driving an ATV while the two were working in his shop. In the video, he was practicing maneuvering the ATV on a dirt track while the Cup Series champion recorded him. The six-year-old laid some impressive laps on his quad bike, maintaining a constant speed on the oval track.
The #22 Ford Mustang driver was impressed by his son's skills and captioned the clip:
"Huddy laying down some laps before Turkey Day."
The 2024 Cup Series champion had a "daily routine" of laying laps with his son since his second title win and kept the tradition alive to this day. Despite racing with his son, Logano doesn't want to push his six-year-old son into racing.
"I don't want to be so serious already": Joey Logano on his son's future in racing
Joey Logano was recently featured on the latest episode of "Kenny Wallace Conversation" and opened up about the interests of his three kids with his wife Brittany Bacca. He mentioned that his eldest son is deeply devoted to racing, while his second son is curious about animals.
"I'm in my shop right now, and he's [Hudson] behind me downstairs working on his racing car. He just wants to do anything with wheels; that's his thing. I don't know if he wants to race or not; he just wants to drive. So, he's six, and I'm okay with that. Dad's not going to push him," Joey Logano said. (08:15)
The father of three reminisced about his simple childhood and highlighted that he wants his son to grow up enjoying his childhood without any pressure of being a race car diver.
"If he does decide to race, everyone will decide to do it. I don't want them to be held at a different standard. I know it's going to happen because they're my kid, right?... Like, I was Tom Logano's kid. We didn’t do anything about racing. We’re just having fun. I’m six-years-old, I’m having fun. That’s all it’s about. I hate it. I don’t want it to be so serious already." (10:06 onwards)
Despite having a tough regular season, Joey Logano performed well in the final stretch of the 2024 Cup Series season and claimed the title, bagging three wins in the season.
