Kansas City Royals Keep Rolling;Win 6-1 over Toronto Blue Jays

Lorenzo Cain

After last night’s extra innings win over the Blue Jays, the Royals would look to Jason Vargas to keep things rolling.

Things got off to a bit of a rocky start when Jason Vargas opened up the game giving up a leadoff triple to Blue Jays short stop,Jose Reyes. With one on, and one out, Vargas got Edwin Encarnacion to pop up to Omar Infante, and Brett Lawrie to foul out to Nori Aoki.

The Blue Jays first run came on a 2 out solo shot by Jose Bautista. Vargas would end the day going 6 innings, and yielding 1 earned run to the Blue Jays.

The Royals struck first, scoring Billy Butler from third on a Lorenzo Cain single to right field. The Royals would also plate two in the 4th on a 2-run bomb from Alex Gordon, who continued his 8-game hitting streak.

In the 6th, Lorenzo Cain singled in Alex Gordon from 2nd base. In the 8th inning, my dad looked at me and said, “Lorenzo Cain is going to hit a home run.” Sure enough, he did. Props to my dad for calling that one.

The Royals would welcome back 3rd baseman Danny Valencia back to the lineup. Valencia went 0-4. The Royals would go on to win 6-1 over the Blue Jays. This was a very non-Royals like game. I love it!
