National Games: Maharashtra Netball player passes away due to cardiac arrest

Mayuresh Pawar was a part of Mahrashtra’s netball team

A teenage netball player from Maharashtra, Mayuresh Pawar, has passed away due to cardiac arrest on Monday. This is the first major non-organisational incident to occur at the National Games this time.

The 19-year old participated in Maharashtra’s match against Chandigarh at the Agriculture College Indoor Stadium. He complained of severe chest pain, after the match and was given first aid.

However, the medicines didn’t help in removing the pain as his condition worsened. He was taken to a near-by hospital, but could not be revived.

Kerala Sports Minister, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has extended his condolences towards Pawar’s family. He also said that the government would bear all expenses to transport his body back to Maharashtra.
