Micah Hyde is a vital part of the defensive setup at the Buffalo Bills, with the safety winning numerous accolades since he moved from Green Bay Packers to Buffalo.

Hyde's performances for the Bills were so good that before the 2021 NFL season, he was handed a two-year, $19.25 million contract extension, keeping him under contract through to 2023.

This contract made him one of the best paid in his position, as he was rewarded for his two Pro Bowl appearances in his Buffalo career.

Hyde repaid the Bulls' front office faith, as he was instrumental in their deep playoff run to the AFC Divisional Round, where they lost 42–36 to the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime.

However, the Iowa Hawkeyes alum sustained a nasty neck injury in the BIlls' Week 2 matchup, which made the team place him on Injury reserve until further notice. The injury was so serious that numerous sources reported that Hyde would be ruled out for the rest of the season.

However, according to Alec White of the Buffalo Bills' official website, Hyde is back with the team and has been advising fellow players following successful surgery.

That being said, Micah Hyde is not playing tonight against the Green Bay Packers, as it is too risky to rush him back from such a gruesome injury. It is all the more unnecessary for a regular season game against an out-of-form Green Bay Packers.

Where is Micah Hyde playing?

Micah Hyde currently plays as a free safety for the Buffalo Bills. Hyde, who played college football in Iowa, was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Hyde has amassed 590 combined tackles (445 solo and 145 assisted), five forced fumbles, and 22 interceptions in 144 games of his NFL career thus far. The man of steel had never missed more than two games in a season until this one.

Micah Hyde Fantasy Football update & predictions

Micah Hyde is a fantasy football favorite due to his do-it-all style of play. This playing style has made him a favorite of coaches, fellow players, and fantasy football managers over his eight-and-a-half-year NFL career.

However, Hyde looks to be a write-off for the current NFL fantasy league season, thanks to his nasty neck injury in the Bills' Week 2 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. It remains to be seen how soon he'll be back, but till then, you should look for other serviceable free safeties to take his place.
