Lamar Jackson 'way ahead of the curve' - Ravens offensive coordinator
Baltimore Ravens rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson is "way ahead of the curve" as he transitions to the NFL, according to his offensive coordinator.
The Ravens traded back into the first round of this year's draft to take Jackson with the final pick of the first round.
He is expected to serve as Joe Flacco's backup in his maiden season, though his selection naturally led to speculation Jackson could unseat Flacco.
And Ravens offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said of Jackson: "He's done an outstanding job up to date. He's way ahead of the curve now."
Baltimore opened training camp last weekend, and Mornhinweg also had praise for Flacco, who is preparing for his 11th season in the league.
"It looks like he's moving and grooving better than he has in several years," Mornhinweg added of Flacco.
The Ravens start their season against the Buffalo Bills on September 9.
