The NFL Draft presents new opportunities for teams to build for their future. The quarterback is the most important position in the NFL and they are always at a premium. The 2022 NFL Draft features exciting prospects such as Matt Corral of Ole Miss and Malik Willis of Liberty. Selecting a quarterback in the first round of the NFL Draft could change the entire outlook of the franchise.

Teams that will select a first round QB in the 2022 NFL Draft

#5 - Pittsburgh Steelers

Ben Roethlisberger appears to be nearing the end of his great career. He is on a one-year contract this season and his production has declined. Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins are unlikely to be the Steelers' long-term solution, so the NFL Draft will give them an opportunity to find their quarterback of the future. Even if they sign a veteran, they could still use a long term plan.

#4 - Washington Football Team

The Washington Football Team have had a disappointing season and should have a high pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. They signed veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick before the season because they didn't put faith in Taylor Heinicke to be the starting quarterback. Heinicke has played decently this year, filling in for Fitzpatrick, but probably has not done enough to consolidate the job.

#3 - Houston Texans

The Houston Texans should have one of the top picks in the NFL Draft. Deshaun Watson seems to have played his last game with the team and veteran Tyrod Taylor won't be a part of the future. Davis Mills has played well but the Texans will have the chance to select a higher-rated quarterback with more talent. They should seize the opportunity.

#2 - Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions are in a full rebuild right now. They signed a new head coach this offseason, Dan Campbell, and even traded away their long-time starting quarterback, Matthew Stafford. Jared Goff is unlikely to be their long-term answer at quarterback. The Lions will have a high pick in the NFL Draft and will have a great opportunity to select one of the top prospects.

#1 - Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos now have a solid roster ready to compete. The only thing missing is a quarterback. There is an old saying: "If you have two quarterbacks, you have no quarterback." That applies to the Broncos situation with Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater. There is not a ton of upside there, so they can look to the NFL Draft for a more inspiring option.
