The 2022 NFL offseason's quarterback carousel is underway. Some of the big chips have fallen as Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger retired.

More recently, Aaron Rodgers announced he will remain with the Green Bay Packers, Russell Wilson has been traded to the Denver Broncos and Carson Wentz has been traded to the Washington Commanders.

It's been an exciting offseason for the quarterback position, especially considering how early it still is. NFL teams have been aggressive in their pursuits of figuring out their situation in the most important position in football.

While some of the biggest names are off the board, there are still plenty of talented quarterbacks available. Here are five that are still worth pursuing.

Andy Dalton is the most experienced quarterback available in free agency. He spent nine years as the starting quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals before spending the last two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears.

He has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times and helped the Bengals reach the NFL Playoffs four times.

#4 - Marcus Mariota

Marcus Mariota spent the last two seasons as a back-up for Derek Carr with the Las Vegas Raiders after a decent run as a starter for the Tennessee Titans.

Most around the league believe he will get one more chance to be a starter eventually because of his dual threat abilities. Mariota has accumulated 91 total touchdowns in his career and won a playoff game as the starting quarterback for the Titans.

Mariota's ability to run the ball from the quarterback position gives him high relative upside in comparison to most of the free agent quarterbacks available. It's a trait that has become more important for quarterbacks in recent years, so his athleticism could be desirable.

Teddy Bridgewater has been the starting quarterback for four different teams in his seven seasons in the NFL.

While he doesn't offer a ton in terms of upside, he has one of the highest floors of the remaining available free agent quarterbacks. He has started in 34 games over the last three years while throwing 42 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.

He has been fairly efficient in his career, completing 66.5 percent of his total passes and earning a 90.7 overall passer rating.

#2 - Mitchell Trubisky

Mitchell Trubisky spent the 2021 NFL season as a back-up to Josh Allen with the Buffalo Bills. Prior to that, he had a decent run as the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears.

Across 50 regular-season starts, he has recorded a 29-21 record while accounting for 72 total touchdowns and helping the Bears reach the playoffs in two of his four seasons.

Trubisky is likely going to get another opportunity at becoming a starting quarterback eventually and that chance could potentially come in the 2022 season.

He is one of the better options still available and could be signed as an unrestricted free agent for a relatively cheap price for a quarterback.

#1 - Jameis Winston

Jameis Winston is probably the best available quarterback in free agency. He was impressive during the 2021 NFL season, recording a 5-2 record across seven starts with the New Orleans Saints while throwing 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions.

His season was unfortunately cut short by an injury, but he appears to be recovering well and should be ready to go for the 2022 season.
