The Pittsburgh Steelers didn't have the best of seasons, as they failed to qualify for the playoffs. The AFC North outfit finished third in their division with a 9-8 record.

However, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin will be hoping for some reinforcements in the offseason to make a return to the playoffs next season. Moreover, several players in the Steelers squad will be free agents in the offseason.

Pittsburgh will have to decide which players to re-sign and which to offload. Here are all the Pittsburgh players who will enter free agency in the 2023 offseason:

  • Larry Ogunjobi (DT)
  • Devin Bush (ILB)
  • Cameron Sutton (CB)
  • Derek Watt (FB)
  • Mason Rudolph (QB)
  • Tyson Alualu (NT)
  • Chris Wormley (DT)
  • Miles Boykin (WR)
  • Marcus Allen (ILB)
  • Robert Spillane (ILB)
  • Malik Reed (OLB)
  • Jesse Davis (G/T)
  • Terrell Edmunds (SS)
  • Benny Snell (RB)
  • Zach Gentry (TE)
  • Trent Scott (OT)
  • Damontae Kazee (S)
  • Karl Joseph (SS)
  • Jeremy McNichols (RB)
  • James Pierre (CB)
  • Steven Sims (WR)
  • J.C. Hassenauer (C/G)
  • Tae Crowder (ILB)
  • Jamir Jones (OLB)
  • Christian Kuntz (LS)

The main focus for the Pittsburgh Steelers will be re-signing defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi in the offseason. The 28-year-old racked up 48 tackles in the 2022 season, out of which 25 were solo. He also had 1.5 sacks and was one of the better-performing players for Pittsburgh.

Kenny Pickett has shown he can be a long-term quarterback for the team. Despite throwing nine interceptions, the 24-year-old threw for 2,404 yards and seven touchdowns in his rookie season. This would mean that the Steelers could decide to offload quarterback Mason Rudolph instead of offering him an extension.

Pittsburgh will also have to make an important decision on cornerback Cameron Sutton. The 27-year-old finished the regular season with 43 tackles, three interceptions, and 15 passes defended. Re-signing Sutton would undoubtedly be an ideal solution for the Steelers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will look to improve in many departments in free agency, especially their offense. They had the fewest points scored in their division.

Although Pickett looked promising, the young quarterback didn't have a suitable offensive weapon he could target regularly. Luring in a top-quality wideout will be a priority for the Steelers if they are to return to the playoffs next season.
