Sunday morning is a great feeling for NFL fans as this is the day when most of the games are played. Sundays typically have games featuring in three different time slots. Therefore, hard-core fans can spend the entire day watching game after game. A lot takes place on NFL Sundays and keeping tabs off all the games can be quite difficult.
But, in order for the fans to be able to catch as many games as they can, the NFL has spread out the games into five different times slots and three different days. The new NFL week starts on Thursdays with a Thursday night game, followed by Sundays with three slots; early afternoon, late afternoon, and night, and the week ends with one or at times two Monday night games.
So, if it’s a Sunday, grab some snacks or munchies, get in front of your favorite seat and make yourself comfortable, because it is going to be one long, but exciting day. With that said, let us now take a look at the details of Sunday Football, where and when to watch it.

Sunday Football TV Channel
With so many games taking place on Sundays, the NFL has linked up with more than one broadcast partner to distribute the load as much as possible. While Monday Night Football belongs solely to the Disney group which includes ESPN and ABC, and while Thursday Night Football is now solely with Amazon Prime, Sunday games are spread out amongst five different broadcasters.
Having said that, Sunday Night Football (SNF) belongs completely to NBC and its streaming service Peacock. The two major networks that broadcast the majority of the games on Sunday are Fox and CBS with the rights to games distributed as follows:
AFC team games broadcast rights belong to CBS
NFC team games broadcast rights belong to FOX
Interconference games meaning AFC teams vs NFC teams broadcast rights are given to the away team’s network. (Meaning, if the away team belongs to the AFC, then CBS will broadcast the game, and vice-versa).
Sunday Football Kickoff Time
Sunday football kickoff time generally sees three different time slots for all the games. The first slot is typically 1:00 p.m. ET (Eastern Time) which features the early afternoon games. This is the time slot where the most number of games take place.
The second slot is the late afternoon kickoff where games will start either at 4:05 p.m. ET or 4:25 p.m. ET. The last slot is the prime time slot which is an SNF game starting at around 8:15 p.m. ET. The SNF features only one game each week.
For Sunday’s pregame show, you can catch NFL Gameday which starts at 9:00 a.m. ET. Several NFL insiders, experts, reporters, and former players are on-air at various stages throughout the week to bring you pre-game, post game, and live coverage of the NFL.
