In the United States, viewers of Fox's broadcast of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup might recognize a familiar face. Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson, a recognizable figure, seemed out of place. It appears to be the wrong football.

To provide color and dimension to another edition of the illustrious tournament, Fox Sports assembled the perfect team of broadcasters, some from the footballing world and others from beyond.

The broadcasters will immerse local football fans in all matters of football for the ensuing four weeks by airing all 64 games live on either Fox or FS1.

The event will be reviewed and discussed by hosts Kate Abdo, former U.S. men's national team great Maurice Edu, and retired NFL player and soccer enthusiast Chad Johnson.

American football, where Chad Johnson excelled as a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, is where he first gained fame. But he also experimented in soccer, temporarily suiting up for Boca Raton FC, a semi-pro outfit.

Due to his lack of football background, Chad Johnson's involvement in the program is certain to cause controversy among enthusiasts.

The purpose of the program is to hear the opinions of soccer personalities, celebrities, and commentators regarding the World Cup. Interestingly, this won't just be experts discussing strategies. Instead, anticipate a more entertaining spin on World Cup coverage.

Kate Abdo is well-known to viewers of Paramount+'s Champions League broadcast. She co-hosts the program on CBS with Micah Richards, Thierry Henry, and Jamie Carragher. Abdo is a member of the FOX Sports group for his fourth FIFA World Cup. Her previous appearances occurred in Russia in 2018 and at two Women's World Cups in 2015 and 2019.

Abdo and Edu are great options because they have experience working for Fox, and we know what to expect from them. Johnson is a bit of a wildcard because he has never served in any capacity as a Fox pundit.

He has always been a strong supporter of the sport, and now much more so in his retirement. He frequently posts about enjoying European football matches.
