Who is Sabo in One Piece?

Sabo was born in the Goa Kingdom into a noble family. His family expected him to marry a princess of another royal family in order to keep the family name going. His father never showed care towards him and the same was the way with his mother. As he didn't receive any love or care from either of his parents and he was only a way for them to secure wealth, Sabo ran away to the Gray Terminal and made his parents think that he was dead.

At Gray Terminal he met with Ace and they bonded over the fact that they had the same dream, i.e. to become Pirates. They made a headstart in their dream by robbing people in Gray Terminal. Ace told Sabo about Luffy, a kid who was following him around and Sabo told Ace to come to live with him in Gray Terminal. Ace declined his offer.

One day, Luffy overheard their dream of becoming a pirate, and they thought that he should be killed in case he tries to expose them. Before they could do that, Luffy was captured by a big group of Pirates who were looking for Ace as he had stolen from them. Eventually, Ace and Sabo manage to defeat them and save Luffy.

After this adventure, Ace lectured Luffy about his carelessness. After this incident, the three became the best of friends and always went on adventures together. They swore that they were sworn brothers from now on.

Sabo's father eventually found him and sent his men to get him back. He told his men that they could do whatever they wanted with Ace and Luffy. As Sabo couldn't see his brothers getting hurt, he said that he'll return without throwing a fit as long as his father lets Ace and Luffy go without any harm. Sabo was forced to say that Luffy and Ace had forced him to join him in on their crimes.

Later on, Sabo got to know from his adopted brother that the Nobles had planned to burn the Gray Terminal down. Sabo couldn't let the people of Grey Terminal be burned down so he sneaked out of his window at night to warn the people of the attack that was going to happen. But when he reached there, the area was already set ablaze, Sabo tried finding Ace and Luffy so that he could help them escape. Sabo was then spotted by some guards who went after him but he managed to hide from them. He then stumbled upon Dragon and said that the Nobles were trashy people and he was ashamed to be one of them.

Sabo left Goa with Dragon and his crew. He wrote a letter to Ace and Luffy explaining his actions and hoped to meet them again as Pirates. When they were out at sea, Dragon's ship came across World Noble Saint Jalmack's ship and a fight broke out between them. Jalmack launched a bazooka on Dragon's ship and Sabo barely managed to survive the first one, but got caught in the second blast. Sabo was on the verge of drowning but he was saved by Dragon in the nick of time. He then carried Sabo to the Revolutionary Army's ship where he was treated.

Since he was a child, Sabo always had high physical capabilities. It was due to the harsh training he had as a child. He was able to fight a massive man and beat Luffy and Ace in matches too. He was also a skilled thief and he was able to rob a lot of people. He was very fast and agile too and was skilled in the art of stealth.

After joining the Revolutionary Army and personally being trained under Monkey D. Dragon he attained immense physical strength as an adult. His level of agility had also increased by a lot. He is very skillful in hand-to-hand combat too. He excelled in the rigorous training that was done in the Revolutionary Army.

As an adult, he was able to shoot down a master fighter with extreme physical strength with a single punch. He could fight at the same level as Fujitora, a Marine Admiral, and is a skilled swordsman. He single-handedly defeated Burgess, a very powerful member of the Blackbeard Pirates. He uses a metal pipe as his fighting weapon.

Devil Fruit

Sabo ate the Mera Mera fruit (the previous user was Ace) which gave him the ability to control and transform his body into fire at will. At first, he was unable to control the powers but he eventually got a hang of it. Although he hasn't fully grown accustomed to his new abilities, he adapted as he underwent practice and training. He can use Ace's signature technique 'Hiken' which allows him to transform his arm into a large, powerful fire blast. He can also use these flames to augment his Ryusoken style as well as imbue his weapons with fire.

Haki

Sabo can use the Busoshoku Haki. It is the form of Haki that allows the user to use their spiritual energy to create an invisible armor around themselves which gives them amazing offensive and defensive skills. He can imbue this haki into his weapons. He can even use the Kenbunshoku Haki. It is a form of Haki that grants the user a sixth sense that allows them to sense the presence, strength and emotions of others as well as gain precognitive abilities. He is quite skillful in the usage of this Haki.

Ryusoken

Ryusoken is a fighting style that revolves around the use of grips. Sabo mastered this technique and his grips are so strong that they can break armor, swords, and even artillery. He claims that his fingers are like claws and he uses his haki to strengthen his fingers.
