Angelo Dawkins

Angelo Dawkins is an American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE where he works on the SmackDown brand. He is a member of The Street Profits. The group is composed of Dawkins and Montez Ford and is currently mentored by former WWE World Champion Bobby Lashley. Having won the RAW, SmackDown, and NXT Tag Team Championships, Montez and Dawkins are the second-ever WWE Tag Team Triple Crown Champions. The two superstars achieved the feat in 499 days after their debut, making them the team to do so within the least time.

Angelo Dawkins Early Life

The real name of Angelo Dawkins is Gary Gordon. He was born on July 24, 1990 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Not much is known of Gordon’s personal life. He had been interested in wrestling and began wrestling professionally after his teenage. He was signed by WWE at the age of 25 and has been wrestling alongside Montez Ford ever since.

Professional Wrestling Career

NXT (2016-2019)

Angelo Dawkins and Kenneth Crawford made their WWE tryout debut on the March 16, 2016, episode of NXT and lost to Hype Bros. They made their official debuts over a year later on the July 12, 2017, episode of NXT when Crawford was renamed to Montez Ford. They were now named The Street Profits. Upon their debut, The Profits would go on a winning streak where they defeated teams like The Early Twins, Riddick Moss & Tino Sabbatelli, and a few local teams.

Their first loss came in January 2018 at the hands of the Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) and failed to earn a tag team title shot. They entered the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic but once again lost to AOP, crashing out of the tournament in the semi-finals. They then feuded against the likes of Viking Raiders, Forgotten Sons, and Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. At TakeOver XXV, Profits, Lorcan and Burch, Forgotten Sons, and Undisputed Era collided in a four-way tag team ladder match for the NXT Tag Team Championship and won the title for the first time. They would go on to lose the belt to the Undisputed Era in August that year.

Tag Team Championship wins and pursuits (2019-2022)

In later 2019, Ford and Dawkins started appearing on the main roster and finally were drafted to Monday Night RAW during the draft. Their first feud on the main roster was against The Viking Raiders, the guys whom they had already feuded against on NXT. The Raiders were the RAW Tag Team Champions at the time. Profits failed to grab the title on three different occasions before finally winning the gold on March 2, 2020 in a Final Opportunity Last Chance Match. The two went on to retain their gold against Angel Garza and Austin Theory, Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy, Viking Raiders, Andrade and Angel Garza.

During the 2020 WWE Draft, The Street Profits were drafted to SmackDown while holding the RAW Tag Team Championship. Likewise, the SmackDown Tag Team Champions New Day were drafted to Monday Night RAW. This resulted in an exchange of championships where Profits had now won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship for the first time in their career. This made them the second-ever WWE Tag Team Triple Crown Champions after The Revival. They lost the title to Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode in January 2021. Dawkins and Ford would spend the rest of the year trying to regain the title but failed.

During the 2021 draft, they were drafted back to Monday Night RAW. At the Day 1 PPV on January 1, 2022, they challenged RK-Bro for the RAW Tag Team Championships but lost. Dawkins entered the 2022 Royal Rumble at number 10 but failed to make a mark. They once again challenged RK-Bro at WrestleMania 38 in a triple-threat match also involving the Alpha Academy. Profits failed to win and embraced with Randy Orton and Matt Riddle after the match.

After the unification of RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Championships, Street Profits failed to defeat the new champions The Usos at Money in the Bank and then at SummerSlam, where Jeff Jarrett acted as the special guest referee. The rest of the year saw Dawkins and Ford partake in some random feuds. The two superstars entered the 2023 Royal Rumble and Dawkins entered at number 11 but was eliminated by The Beast Brock Lesnar. Dawkins failed to qualify for the Men’s Elimination Chamber after losing to Damian Priest. On the Night One of WrestleMania Hollywood, Street Profits won the Men’s Fatal-Four Way WrestleMania Showcase Tag Team Match.

Teaming up with Bobby Lashley (2023-Present)

Following WrestleMania, The Street Profits were eyed by WWE Legend and former World Champion Bobby Lashley. Lashley stepped in as a mentor to Profits. The three superstars teamed up at Fastlane 2023, where they were defeated by Latino World Order.
