Danilo Gallinari: A Brief Biography

Danilo Gallinari is an Italian professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA, He is 6 ft 10 in (2.08 m) in height and plays as a power forward.


He started playing professional basketball in Italy but his big break came in the 2007-08 season while playing for Olimpia Milano in the EuroLeague where he won the tournament's rising star award. Gallinari was drafted 6th overall in the 2008 draft by the New York Knicks, due to back problems he was ruled out for most of the 2008-09 season.


On February 22, 2011, Gallinari was traded to the Denver Nuggets in a three-team trade, During the 2011 NBA lockout, he returned to Italy to play for Emporio Armani Milan before signing a contract extension with the Nuggets in 2012.


An ACL injury kept him out of most of the 2012-13 and the entire 2013-14 season.


On July 6, 2017, the Los Angeles Clippers acquired Gallinari from the Denver Nuggets as part of a three-team trade, his injury problems continue at LA with multiple injuries and fractures.
