Jakub Swierczok: A Brief Biography

Jakub Swierczok is a Polish professional footballer. He was born on 28 December 1992 in Tychy, Poland. He plays for Ludogorets Razgrad and the Poland national football team.


His primary position is striker/forward.


Background


He played for a lot of clubs in his youth career. It started with his stint with the MOSM Tychy in the year 2002 at the age of 10. He then moved to MK Górnik Katowice, and then came back to MOSM Tychy.


In 2007, he shifted to Cracovia, then to SMS Krakow in 2008, then again came back to SMS Krakow in 2008-09. His final club in his youth career was Polonia Bytom where he played from 2009-11.


He also played for Poland U20 and Poland U21. He collectively made 4 appearances and scored one goal for Poland U20 in his lone game for them.


Debut


Swierczok made his international debut on 10 November 2017 against Uruguay. He did not start in the first eleven but replaced Kamil Wilczek for the last 23 minutes. The game ended in a draw with both teams scoring one goal each.


He has made 3 appearances for the national side till date and is yet to score a goal.


Club career


He joined Polonia Bytom in 2011. He scored 12 goals in 18 appearances in the I Liga. In 2012, he signed a contract with F.C. Kaiserslautern in 2012. He played for their first and second tier team. He made 29 appearances for them and scored 8 goals. He was loaned out to Piast Gliwice in 2012 for a year. He made only one appearance there.


In 2015, he shifted base to Zawisza Bydgoszcz where he scored 4 goals in 15 appearances. The following year he moved to Gornik Leczna. He made 31 appearances and netted 7 goals for them.


Swierczok again moved to GKS Tychy the following year. He had a decent stint with them as he scored 16 goals in 30 appearances. In 2017, he was transferred to Zaglebie Lubin. He netted 16 goals in 21 appearances for the Polish club. In January 2018, he signed a €1.000.000 contract with Ludogorets Razgrad. He has already scored 5 goals in 7 appearances for them so far.
