Jeff Teague: A Brief Biography

Jeffrey Teague is an American professional basketball player who plays as a point guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA. His father, Shawn played college basketball for Missouri and Boston University. Jeff's brother Marquis currently plays professional basketball in Korean Basketball League for Jeonju KCC Egis. Teague attended Pike High School (Indianapolis, Indiana).

Jeff joined the Wake Forest University in 2007, where he majored in Religious studies. He was drafted with the 19th pick by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2009 NBA draft. One of his standout performance in his rookie year came in a win against the Cleveland Cavaliers where he chipped in with 24-points, 15-assists, and 5-rebound on April 14, 2010. In his second season with the Hawks, he scored 20 or more points thrice during the regular season and started all 6 games in the second round of playoffs after starter Kirk Hinrich was injured. Jeff finished 2011-12 season 8th on the list of steals in the NBA with 106 steals. During the 2012-13 season, he participated in the Skills Challenge during NBA All-Star Weekend.

On July 10, 2013, he signed a four-year, $32 million extension with the Hawks. The 2014-15 season was special for Jeff as he was named as a reserve in the NBA All-Star Game and the Hawks finished first in the East during the regular season. On July 7, 2016, Teague was traded to the Indiana Pacers in a three-team trade involving the Atlanta Hawks and the Utah Jazz. He started all 82 games for the Pacers during the 2016-17 season. On July 10, 2017, Jeff signed a three-year, $57 million deal with the Timberwolves.
